I've always wanted to ask:
Why can't spoiler providers just post spoilers vaguely?

For example: If you had a spoiler "Sanji vs King"
Couldn't spoiler provider just post picture of a "3" representing Sanji and a picture of a crown representing King?
It would be so cryptic altho it will be funny watching the people in spoiler thread trying to decipher the secret message lmao

i think in general things like this is not a problem in itself. The problem is ... hard to describe hmm...

As a confirmed spoiler provider you need 2 things: Spoilers from a source, and a name people know you under. If you post spoilers consistently on a Monday/tuesday, even if vague, your name will naturally gain popularity. Officials WILL get wind of this after some time. Even if it is vague. they will. then they start tracking down. What forum? Where? Language? Can we track IP? Can we shoot the website down he is posting spoilers on? Does he post on his own website? Easy to take down. Call host of website send takedown request or something like that. Post on twitter? Shueisha huge influence, they contact twitter and take account down/get information like ip through contact with twitter staff.

Post on 5ch? Good. but, your name changes. no one will know if you talk bullshit or not no one will know if you are the real deal.

even sites the korean monday leaker used arent safe. As u see, people hated him for posting *so* early. They sent him screenshots of contacting police etc.

again, its about Monday and consistency.

Also after they found you out they will get to know your source and take him to jail too
But i don't think they will take u to jail if u are from a country far away from them and doesn't have any relation with them let's take an example Morocco

Hmmm
Would it also be the same if a spoiler provider posted in a "prediction thread for the next chapter"
and "predicted" few of the events correctly while most of the predictions were wrong (intentionally). People would recognize the wrong spoilers from how bizarre they are.

Could authorities arrest providors just for predicting few events correctly from many wrong predictions?

I feel like if there’s 1 real spoiler out of 10 fake ones, it will be pretty useless. If it’s obvious enough that people can guess which ones are the real and which ones are the fake ones, then it will be the same normal spoilers making this process counter intuitive

All the spoiler talk sounds like drug trafficking lol

I thought we all agreed that I'm supposed to be the bad mod? Stop stealing my thunder.....
Oh right— :emohiyo:

Lemme do this again

There’s no way we can allow spoilers being provided in hidden codes! Think of all the confusion this will cause! People will burn down the spoiler thread! (that’s your cue Van)

Yes, but the idea is to protect the providors.
I doubt authorities can arrest people for guessing 1 thing right out of 10 he posted.

Yeah that's the point
for example, spoiler provider would post something like this in a prediction thread:
1) Shanks kills Chopper
2) King goes hybrid and fights Sanji
3) Blackbeard is Luffy's mom
4) Akainu turns out to be a woman

People would know instantly that 1, 3, 4 are the fake spoilers because from how silly they are and not lining up with the story,
so the 2 would be the correct "prediction"
