" Stage 2 transformation" where Imu buffs them to a much higher level.
Would also allow the Gorosei to be an actual EoS threat.

Holy Knights are and have always fodder and were never going to be serious oppponents for the wings in any capacity.
I can see the logic for Sanji v Sommers from an ideological perspective but that's all it has going for it. Sommers has to actually be strong for that to work.
I'm just glad that all of this "Sanji will struggle against the Holy bums to unlock CoC" or "Wings will fight he holy bums" nonsense is dead and buried.
Sanji encountering Sommers is feasible but if so he's getting swift diff'd like he's compadre that got merked and bagged up like the garbage he is.
If Sommers comes back with a massive buff from Imu in the form of an Abyss Seal or something then we can talk

Marco vs King and Queen.. yeah he did a good job stalling them, but K and Q weren't going all out, neither got lasting damage to the point they felt handicapped, Marco just let Zoro and Sanji take the fight for real.
Killingham's situation on the other hand.. dude got blitzed by Sanji and then offscreened and belittled, you have non M3 members making fun of him lol... seriously, despite even Jinbe being helpless against Sommers thorns and Gunko, it's clear that, as long as there is a M3 on the area, these guys aint doing shit

Your comparison is weird. The HKs jobbed against everyone and their mother, even Sanji called them weak. It's literally acknowledged in the story. Queen was considered a real threat and powerhouse from start to finish.

Admittedly Killingham getting his head caved in by Sanji is a bad look, but you can say the same for Gunko being blown up by Usopp too. I just don't think any of this really matters as they've shown that they usually don't care to dodge or block attacks that can't counter the regen. When someone CAN counter the regen, we see the HKs actually start trying to fight back for real or avoid the blows somehow (i.e Sommers blocking Gaban's axe swings and Gunko manipulating Gaban by threatening to kill Colon).
It's not like they can't fight, but they rarely have the incentive to, most of the time.
And most of the people we see overwhelming them are the cream of the crop anyway. Xebec killed an Admiral as a rookie yet I'm meant to believe Garling is seriously a bum for losing to him that fast?
