I wonder what people think about the training regime.

Let's say Coby and Luffy are on the same level before the time skip ( both with Gomu for the sake of this question ).

Coby is a Marine so he went on to train with Garp and generally with Marine regime and etc.
Luffy still trains with Luffy.

Who comes out of a time skip better prepared Luffy or Coby?

Both of them with Gomu and they both learned G4 and etc.
I think i would go with Koby here. Because can you imagine a marine with the Gomu Gomu and being able to learn Rokushiki the normal way and adding that to Second / Third / Fourth Gear? We haven't really seen people combining Rokushiki with Haki, that would be nuts.

What about potential factors? Would it play a role here?

I mean, Luffy has been growing at a crazy speed yes, but Koby also seems to have a insane amount of potential. Compare Koby from the start of the series to him at marineford (already showing usage of Soru and awakening Observation Haki), he went up much faster than Luffy if you ask me. For example, Marineford Koby could've handle fighting a little bit against start of the series Luffy i think.

And now, after the time skip, we haven't seen much of Koby but he really seems to be getting crazy strong really fast!

I also think that Koby would be a wiser choice anyway with potential or not.

I think what you said about rokushiki and etc + I think he will know how to balance his Haki usage and make wiser choices.

Sanji can’t order around Jinbei, Zoro, or Franky, how is he VC
He led Franky and Chopper in Punk Hazard

Jinbe was apologizing to Sanji for the ship's situation, and he reported Sanji's situation as if he were his secretary, so it's obvious that Sanji was in charge here

Zoro acts as an immediate mate, for example how he went ahead to fight Kuma.
But Sanji always leads, advises and saves the other crew members, acting as Luffy's special forces agent, he is the most worthy of being given the "right arm" position

Yes, Koby seems to have a more cool personality, and even more now after the time skip, so he can be more a strategist while fighting. But Luffy has also gotten a lot better at this too.

I hope that Luffy will gradually grow from his habits of losing control and etc.

People overlook this because Kaido one-shots him but I actually think that what Luffy was doing right there was a fucking mistake.

He can't lose control over himself whenever someone shits on people or his crew.

I actually think that it's not that his punches were weak and Kaido didn't felt them. I actually think that Luffy lost the control over his haki and these punches were like OK haki coated but not even unce of a strength put into them just pure teenager rage with zero self control.

I agree that Luffy can be trigger-happy and he needs to get better at that.

But at that point, i think Luffy was really thinking his crew got obliterated by Kaido's Breath. Also, Wano has been showing small signs that Luffy still has a lot of trauma / ptsd from Marineford / Sabaody (when he says to Tama straight up that Ace is dead and stuff like that), so going through another experience of losing the whole crew would make him go nuts.

Tbh I don't like the Haki.

It's fucking dumb that different emotions can trigger your defence and etc.

I can understand that. For me, Haki has it's ups and down. It adds a bit of complexity and change in fights (i can only hope we have other fights where Haki is so important like the Katakuri's one), but most of the time it was just created to allow brawlers and swordsmen (Luffy, Zoro and Sanji especially) to fight against logias and stuff, without changing their style too much.

I'm glad Oda hasn't been exploiting Haki like a bad writer would, like making the power of friendship and love boost Luffy's Haki and destroy a powerful enemy. But i can get annoyed when we see cases of Big Mom or Kaido, where the trauma can make their defenses go down.

Reading this I was like: "Hmmm oh! Kaido: Are they using Oden's....?".

Remember when Haki was introduced only to counter Logia users>

Idk if you really believe that. Franky acted according to his own resolve. Saying sorry does not equate to following someone. Luffy said sorry to Sanji in Skypeia does that mean Luffys leader is Sanji? Zoro said sorry and listened to Nami in Whiskey Peaks does that mean Nami leads Zoro?

Yeah, but in that case depends on how you look at it. I took it as Kaido getting a bit weak because of his PTSD of getting cut and badly damaged by Oden, not because the Scabbards Haki became stronger. It was basicaly him remembering what happened back then, he even says his scar started hurting again when he got that fast flashback looking at the Scabbards attack.
