Basically Zoro attacked Imu with KoH 3 Dragon style Rengoku Onigiri and Imu blocked it with his tail
Afterwards Imu shot a bullet of fire at Zoros head and it sent him flying and bleeding enough for chopper to be worried.
The main slander is coming from the difference in impact the attack Zoro was hit with compared to others who were beaten by Imu. Namely Sanji who was hit with Imus fire explosion and his ACoC which was hyped as the strongest Gabans ever felt in his life.

I still believe someone should die if Oda truly wants to make Imu stand out; he could do this for Akainu and Blackbeard pre-timeskip, he can do it for the king of the world.
Imo when both Luffy and Loki are down Imu will try to finish them but then Gaban or Jarul sacrifice themselves (I could see Bonney reverting him back to his prime) and time will be up for Imu
