Sanji has the awareness to know he is fucked. I don't think that's fear on his face. I also think it's pretty nice Imu crossed legs with him and actually defeated him with a weak. It's much more honourable and better than getting blocked by a tail then getting defeated by a fire gun.
I don't even think Zoro funs can dispute this. It would have been aesthetically better for Imu to block Zoro's blades with his blade and also defeat him with the blade. More opportunities to learn in that scenario.
