What will be Oda vengeance if Sanji wins the world popularity poll ?

Jesus Christ, you can‘t be that slow…
Sanji went in with Germa mode on and turned it off while still being in the clash against Imu.

Now you post Sanji going in with Germa mode off and activating it after he sent S-Shark flying. So Sanji went into the stronger mode - while with Imu he went from stronger form into his weaker one.

VS Imu Sanji powered down
VS S-Shark Sanji powered up

You see the difference here?
Powering up makes sense, powering down makes no sense…

If Sanji can move after this kick it is arguably the best feat of a non top tier ever. Still, being able to raise his guard and force such an opponent to block is impressive enough :specialmeh:
A pity the art was not top notch

I'm still hoping for Sanji vs (Omen) Sommers, but Omen Killingham would be great too

Still not really convinced on the Wings v Holy Knights matchups tbh.
Wings need to grow significantly this arc, but that growth is not necessarily a requirement for them to be able to combat the Holy Knights but rather to allow them to be able to hold their own against god tiers. Moreover Oda revealed the way to snuff out the Holy Knights this chapter (i.e. destroying their hearts), so there's no real need for the wings to grow in order to be able to kill them so I still don't really see the necessity for that matchup save it being used as a means to weaken Imu which is cuul and all but like I said already, it won't really foster the growth of the wings.

Don't buy it but even if the Holy Bums have gotten stronger via Omen, does beating them prove that Zoro and Sanji will fare any better against Imu? So then how do we appraise their growth? by beating Holy Knights that they could already neg prior to their PUs?

What do y'all think?

I dont see how Zoro and sanji are supposed to achieve the power to at least hold their own against god tiers for a while this arc

Thats like severe Tiers above where they are currently even next arc imo

Sanji has a feat over all YC1 against kizaru but thats it, oda was not even willing to zoro let touch a admiral in egghead and Sanji didnt last more than 1 chapter

Would skipping some steps to me

You'll drive yourselves up a wall trying to make sense of this eyebrow debacle. Oda's art is becoming increasingly unreliable, and I don't expect him to be consistent in highlighting such a small detail. When Sanji is the focus of a chapter, I'll expect more accuracy, but outside of that, just assume it isn't high up on Oda's checklist.
Epically with the weekly release where Oda makes alot of mistakes such as giving Luffys scar to Zoro although normally it gets fixed up in the volume release

You don't necessarily have to be on the same tier as someone to be able to hold your own though?
Wings are able to hold their own against top tiers even without being on that level (i.e. Zoor v Kaido and Sanji v Kiz)
Moroever I think you're underestimating the power of the narrative which imo is what dictates everything in this series.
If the narrative demands the wings to be strong enough to hold their own against Imu then they will.

Keep in mind that Luffy got one tapped by Kaido early on Wano and in just a few days grew strong enough to be able to not only tango with him on equal footing but also come out victorious.

Personally I think the wings are going to be getting filthy powerups this arc.

Like I've said for a while now their benchmark is Ray and Gaban. So expect them to be as strong as those two were in their primes at the bare minimum by the time this arc ends (i.e. both were on the higher end of the top tier bracket)

Ray/Gaban level with some kinda plus alpha is my expectation for both this arc :BigW:

ofc not, mine point was sanji cant even hold his own against an admiral maybe I wrote it bad

No i also have a narrative scale, which the next logical step for them would be beating/more equal to the gorosei, no? They were able to hold themself against them more easly already in egghead

Well yeah if they gonna get PU its gonna be by oda rule bigger than the last ones, which were already pretty hefty in wano that i agree ewith :endthis:

I get your point but I think that perception is coz of how lazy Oda is with his writing.
Sanji is able to hold his own against Kiz with PoL and Zoro is able to scar Kaido with CoC. these are feats that are beyond what a regular Yonko commander is capable off which I think is what Oda's telling us that these two are exceptional even amongst Yonko commanders. Sanji being powerless against Kiz right after is just Oda being lazy after he's gotten his message across.

Yup it's gonna be outright digusting lol

*btw I'm pretty lit atm so if I'm unintelligible my apologies :risisweat:

Lazy is the way

Z and S aren’t there yet

they have like 2 majors fights after this arc (BB fight and likely WG fight)

and even then there is still a solid chance they will still be below Imu EOS

So beating juiced up HK doesn’t mean much compared to Imu himself and it’s not a problem

Sommers and Gunko have already proven their worth against Robin and Jinbe, the best the good guys can offer behind the Wings. Even without considering Omen a power up, the HKs would be too strong for any non-M3 strawhats. On top of that, they are immortal and not even the Roger Pirates managed to kill them for good.

I can see Jinbe and Franky vs Gunko before Brook saves her from Imu's mind grasp but no more than that.

Considering that this Omen is obviously a boost of some kind, and I'd also argue a considerable one, Sanji and Zoro facing the two boosted HKs is unavoidable at this point.
They can prove their growth by attacking Imu later

That Ophanim-esque halo motif lingering over them seems to be an indication of a temporary promotion in their power. I see no other reason for Oda to burden himself with drawing it if it's only meant to be revival/healing. Most likely explanation is that Oda posed a question through Sanji in a previous chapter, "How are these weaklings a threat?"; this is the answer to that problem. Also we can't ignore the statement Killingham made about not forgetting Sanji as well as Luffy telling Sommers to remember Zoros name. It seems like a solid setup, but so did Sanji vs Sommers, so who knows. All these guys have to do is serve as the catalyst for Zoro and Sanjis next powerups.

The counter argument to that would be that Sommers moved away where zoro was, and i think we are already close to the climax of luffy fighting imu. Cant imagine chiken wing fights after that

Location isn't a big issue, Oda will get characters where he wants them to be whether it makes sense or not, especially now that they can leap like The Hulk. Time would only be a factor if Oda was going to let Zoro and Sanjis fights breathe, we know that wont happen. Most likely they'll be rushed, much like all non Luffy fights. But again, Oda is intentionally unpredictable, to his own stories detriment at times, so we could get nothing at all after all these obvious setups.

Not sure why he would do that though.
Ifrit had the lightning effect to differentiate it from the normal DJ. Now it seems gone and is now drawn star shaped. Weird thing is that the star shape dissapeared when he landed his concasse on KH and there was no lightning aswell. Just seems extremely random now.
So not sure if it means anything or not. We have seen a star shaped DJ against Judge, but it never played a role ever again. Might be the same thing here.

I was just thinking about something

This is probably the first time Sanji is hit with a clear CoC coating attack from a top (actual god) tier. Luffy only found out about coating his attacks with Conquerors after getting clapped by Three Realms Ragnarok

On top of Imu's CoC Sanji got hit by a kick with flames which is basically his fighting style. Will this will be key for him to find out about how to coat his kicks fr? Btw im pretty sure Sanji is using CoC unconciously somehow, Killingham needing Omen to recover and Imu's clash with Sanji are way too sus
:quest:

btw it seems Sanji is really set to get more highlight soon. The fact Imu got away from Zoro and made chopper busy treating the injured while Sommers is free, Killingham is close to Sanji and the others and near to Imu.. Well at least we can say Sanji is close to epicenter of all that shit rn, and as i said before here Sanji never takes an attack that completely incapacitates him, its either a hax or he just eats anything else thrown at him
:finally:
