This needs a big answer:
So what's the difference between fascism and socialism if violence can be used against opponents besides their ideologies?
The domination and the ethics.
On one side (fascism), you have a violence created to dominated marginalized and overall everyone that is not the elites and the ruling class. Based on hatred, completely disregard for the reality of the world and ethics.
On the other side (socialist revolution), you have violence created to stop the domination of marginalized and overall everyone that is not the elites and the ruling class, to give back the power to
everyone on an equal basis based on science, love and solidarity and an almost complete understanding of the reality of the world and everything is done based on ethical principle.
It's like comparing the violence of a man that hurt kid and the violence
against the man who hurt kids in order to
protect the kid.
How do you create that? Socialism doesn't lead to no domination.
Socialism (
as in "anti-capitalism") alone, no.
For that we need to tackles all the systems of domination as Capitalism is only
one of them:
- Capitalism
- Racism
- Patriarchy
- Eugenism
- Adultism
These dominations are systems. Meaning they are separate entities, but they also feed on each others. (
for ex, racism and capitalism create colonialism, adultism and patriarchy create pedophilia etc.).
To stop that, we need to fight everything at once. Meaning that we need to have a
intersectionnal approach of anti-dominations struggles.
But having an intersectionnal approach is not enough. Because intersectionnality can be liberal and individualize problem rather than seeing these dominations as products of modes of production, exploitation and material conditions of existence. To do that we also need to have a
materialist approach of struggles and the world.
So to fight each system, we need to have an intersectional and materialist approach focusing on everything at once, especially the intersections that are great blindspot for society (the intersection of racism and capitalism or capitalism and ableism or racism and patriarchy).
And finally. To really attack these systems of domination, we need to attack the institutions that perpetuates these system. Instititution can be derivated of state institution or be social ones. For exemple, to fight ableism, we need a
better health system, but we also need to
end psychiatry and create a peer help system.
On the other side, to fight patriarchy, ending sexism alone will not be enough as there is a big interconnection between capitalism and patriarchy through the
social institution that is the family. Families are a hive of hidden domination, from incest, to pedophilia, to patriarcal violence to adultist violence or even ableist one.. each member of the social institution that is the nuclear family is at risk, especially children and women. Simply because this structure favorizes hidden behavior. It's a social form of violence that is excluded from the collective whole and therefore it multiplies every types of violences and dominations.
To really stop this interconnection of dominations, we need to rethink the way we create social groups. This means that families, as a social and state institution, will also disappear to let the place to a more collective approach where dominations will not be hidden behind a nuclear group.
As such, to find dominations, we need to rethink everything, not just the way capitalism is structured. You can easily see why it is so attacked by all sides. Socialism as a form of society is against the interests of every dominant class and person.
Socialism must be intersectionnal and materialist.
Who's going to decide what job is necessary or not?
Mainly the material reality of the world and the collective.
If the grass doesn't grow and stay pretty and healthy, would you need to have a job specifically aimed to cut it ?
No. It's not needed, simply because the material conditions have changed and the grass doesn't grow anymore.
(that's a fictionnal exemple, but it can apply for many things under socialism)
Keep in mind that I'm against capitalist societies as it is now but what you propose is nothing more than an authoritarian regime with false equality.
I'm anti-state.. so I don't know where you get that lol
I'm literally against any type of non collective authority. I think you don't really picture what I'm proposing here.
And you seem to think that resorting to violence is an easy thing with no consequence and that will be turned only against the ruling classes. Which bothers me a little.
Absolutely not. if fact, I'm against violence (
for the revolution, not necessarily to fight capitalism) and I think that if violence is used, it has very little chances to work. (even if there is still a chance that it works). It's not a question of thinking that violence would be easy, it's a question of time.
Violence is coming. It's not a fantazy, it's a simple logical prediction based on the current systems of our world. Anger is rising, not just in the west, everywhere. We are seeing a slow but steady politicization all over the globe and people are starting to understand who the ennemies are.
The question is not "will the revolution happen?"
The question is "what will revolution look like?"
I want the revolution to be peacefull, from the bottom-up, from the streets and organization of activists, to a more global collective whole and a natural slip toward more socialist politics.. but I'm not ignoring the anger of the world. It's coming.
Will you go down the streets cutting throats of every opponent as well or are you expecting people to do it for you for example?
Hardly, I can't even get out to have a walk. And I'm against killing for everyone. But war is war. And people die. If there is a violent revolution or a rebellion, you won't get roses, you will get blood.
And this time the question is not "will you - logiko - be fighting?"
It's "do you think you - Luffy is the mc - will be calm enough against the elites, not to fight yourself ?"
A revolution is coming. People are angry, and unless the ruling class stops to feed their own material interest (
which is unlikely), the situation will get worse and worse until it collapses. You are not the ruling class, you have no power over them. And I don't have the power myself. So I can't say "fight !" to you or anyone else.
But I can ask: "will you fight too?".
