I was just thinking about something

This is probably the first time Sanji is hit with a clear CoC coating attack from a top (actual god) tier. Luffy only found out about coating his attacks with Conquerors after getting clapped by Three Realms Ragnarok

On top of Imu's CoC Sanji got hit by a kick with flames which is basically his fighting style. Will this will be key for him to find out about how to coat his kicks fr? Btw im pretty sure Sanji is using CoC unconciously somehow, Killingham needing Omen to recover and Imu's clash with Sanji are way too sus
:quest:

btw it seems Sanji is really set to get more highlight soon. The fact Imu got away from Zoro and made chopper busy treating the injured while Sommers is free, Killingham is close to Sanji and the others and near to Imu.. Well at least we can say Sanji is close to epicenter of all that shit rn, and as i said before here Sanji never takes an attack that completely incapacitates him, its either a hax or he just eats anything else thrown at him
:finally:
I would be disappointed in damaji if he cant grow from this

Z and S aren’t there yet

they have like 2 majors fights after this arc (BB fight and likely WG fight)

and even then there is still a solid chance they will still be below Imu EOS

So beating juiced up HK doesn’t mean much compared to Imu himself and it’s not a problem
Not saying they are going to be on Imu's level EoS, to be able to achieve that you will probably need a god-tier DF like Luffy's.
I'm mostly referring to the standard the narrative has set up this arc:

- Gaban highliting the standard Zoro and Sanji are gotta be at to be able to support Luffy as his wings
- Loki's addtion to the series as a powerful ally that is most likely strong enough to hold his own against god tiers and how his existence affects Zoro and Sanji's narrative role with regards to being Luffy's strongest support pillars
- Zoro and Sanji being swatted away like flies against Luffy's strongest nemesis.

The narrative is demanding both to ascend to that level ASAP, they don't have the luxury to slow dance their way to that level over the course of two arcs.

BB Pirates and matchups against the marines has no bearing what is being demanded of here and now.

Luffy was one-tap diff to Kaido at the begining of Wano but grew strong enough to be able to tango with him 1 v 1 and even beat him and to do this Oda gave Luffy all forms of advanced Haki and even a god-tier fruit on top of that. Regardless of whether he still fights Kiz an arc later or fights Shanks a fellow Yonko who some had below Kaido at that point in time some time in the future.

My point is that narrative demanded Luffy to be that strong and is making a similar demand to Zoro and Sanji right here on Elbaf and Oda's already sowed the seeds for that across the course of Wano and Egghead. For Zoro it is the untapped potential of the filthy reserves of CoC he seems to possess and for Sanji it is the untapped potential of PoL which he showed on Egghead (regardless of whether he unlocks CoC or not).

So we'll probably disagree on this but I think the narrative is demanding a lot more from Zoro and Sanji than beating an amped up Sommers and Kiringham.

Also, I'm not really sure how the arc will play out but I have the feeling that in order for both Sanji and Zoro to be able to tap into their massive potential, they are going to need a bit of guidiance (i.e. Zoro from Gaban and Sanji from Kuma potentially) but not sure how exactly Oda's going write that into the story.

That Ophanim-esque halo motif lingering over them seems to be an indication of a temporary promotion in their power. I see no other reason for Oda to burden himself with drawing it if it's only meant to be revival/healing. Most likely explanation is that Oda posed a question through Sanji in a previous chapter, "How are these weaklings a threat?"; this is the answer to that problem. Also we can't ignore the statement Killingham made about not forgetting Sanji as well as Luffy telling Sommers to remember Zoros name. It seems like a solid setup, but so did Sanji vs Sommers, so who knows. All these guys have to do is serve as the catalyst for Zoro and Sanjis next powerups.
This is the problem for me with this matchup.
This is the same argument that folks made prior to Kiringham getting negged by Sanji and co.
Hearing a lot of talk about Omen giving Kiringham and Sommers boosts but in what capacity?
More strength? and or More speed? Franky was pretty much one tap diff for the wings prior to his PU kinda like the Holy Knights are prior to Omen (assuming it's a PU) but does Franky's Super Cola PU now make him strong enough to challenge either of Zoro or Sanji or strong enough to foster their growth? (Franky can also jump really high lol). The problem with Sommers and Kiringham is that the standard is already in the toilet. Moreover the standard being demanded from Zoro and Sanji here and now is way beyond that.

Plus now that we know that the Holy Knights can be killed by having their hearts destroyed, why do Zoro and Sanji need PUs to be able to defeat them? The only reason why they've not been killed till now is coz they've been lucky enough to have not had their weakeness discovered.
