I also dont see the issue with it. Its like Shanks being nothing of a pirate until he was called a Yonko, then a PK Crew member, then a Figarland. These revelations add layers to the characters here.

We should be cheering that Mihawk finally seems to be getting some sort of connective lore to the story, especially the endgame. He needs to be relevant to the story outside of a promised fight for Zoro

It's a forced and contrived connection. Imu isn't having sex with rando's, so Mihawk is definitely not his son. He would be a distant descendant, which would be meaningless

I don't see what there is to cope about. As i said, any DF merchant with a black blade is Mihawk downscale, because a black blade is alll Mihawk has, while for Imu, a black blade is just a subset and not the pinnacle of his power.
