Which is why I think that trying to scale OP characters to irl lightspeed is dumb. Maybe Kizaru is light speed in Oda’s head, but does Oda really understand how fast light is? Does he know that it’s 299,792,458 m/s?

Most mangaka treat light speed as just meaning “very fast,” and aren’t really being scientifically accurate with it.
In this case, you just have to accept it. It's not that he has a Databook statement saying he's lightspeed, he is literally light through his Logia.

Oda seems to know light is the fastest thing in our world and thus, portrayed light speed to be the fastest thing in One Piece like that as well? What is this dude even on about lol?

Notice how Imu doesn’t elevate Nika from Nidhogg when addressing them. They’re both equally important, reinforces the flashback of OG Nidhogg going toe to toe with OG Nika.

Your mistake is assuming that Kizaru must have been moving already at light speed in the first panel
That’s not a mistake lol, that’s the canon fact which has been presented to us for over a decade. Oda has Kizaru verbally state that his pre TS speed is light speed at several points.

Meaning yes by logical necessity Egghead Kizaru did go FTL.

You’d have to be a retard to apply irl scientific logic to this dude.

Didn’t Kuma also state his air cannons are light speed lol?

You can argue that Kizaru is moving at whatever Oda visualizes to be light speed in his head, but that doesn’t mean he’s actually traveling at irl light speed

Arabasta alone is the size of Australia and it's just a tiny blimp in the Grandline, the OP world is just that massive.
He doesn't believe any of that because it'd mean ships would take far more time to travel within the Grand Line. I don't even get this level of cope to come up with this. It's simply one of the most well known world building concepts of One Piece.

Nice to hear Sanji already facing Zaza. I don't want anyone else getting involved, he needs to overcome every part of that battle on his own, and whilst the MMA has the form of a lady, it's not literally one. Hope we get some large-scale attacks from both Sanji and Zaza. Maybe Ifrit Hells Memories to some success but with Sanji shown to need a a new large-scale finisher for Zaza and a new close-quarters one for Killingham (Concassé was already used once).

Kizaru is literally made of light...
The fandom widely accepts that Enel moves 24/7 with lightning speed but somehow they all come up with ridiculous cope when it's about Kizaru.

What seems more likely: that Oda is taking travel times into account when scaling the size of his world, or that he’s basing all of his scaling on some random statement about a river being 50 km wide in one gag scene?
