I don't get why Kishimoto had the 5 and 7 Tails be captured first offscreen during the timeskip. Why not just start with Shukaku, have the 2 and 3 Tails be captured offscreen during the Tenchi Bridge arc, and then have the 4 and 5 Tails be captured when the 2 and 3 Tails originally were in canon? It kinda undermines the logic of Gyuki and Kurama needing to be saved for last when the sealing process was already out of order from the very start.

Also, the idea that the Gedo Mazo would somehow be destroyed if they attempted sealing Kurama first makes no sense. It's just the empty husk of the Ten Tails, so why wouldn't it be able to accept its own chakra (Kurama) back?

It was just weirdly used for that throw away line from Deidara, about how the people in those villages didn't even care about their jinchuriki getting kidnapped, Which is conceptually kind of interesting.....it was originally kind of a point that the Akatsuki had that broad political plan that pain mentioned a few times early on, which got more deluded over time.

Yeah, I want to finish Elbaf to see how a few things go(Sommers), but I'm probably going to take a break after it ends. The Imu stuff is just exhausting. His entire character is just being an annoying plot device of saying,"Oh but I don't even really care about fighting you anyway(even though I do want to kill 3 year old Teach and his mom, but I suddenly will not Domi reversi even a single other Rocks pirates to get rid of everyone at GV for sure), and his powers (DR, Regeneration) feel almost intentionally frustrating.
