It's exactly about that lol.
If you had actually read my post before feeling attacked, you'd see my point was that a clear red card was not shown.
The only fanbase actively pushing the narrative that the World Cup was rigged for Argentina is Ronaldo fans.
Anyone with a working pair of eyes could see that Argentina was aided tremendously.
There’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that the referee made a mistake by not showing Messi a red card,
But you are not acknowledging it. You are defending it. It's not just the ref on the field. VAR didn't say anything about it either. What is the point of VAR and the entire world cup if obvious calls are not being made just because it's Messi?
but it’s a completely different matter when the entire fanbase is screaming in unison about corruption and spinning conspiracy theories as if Messi scored three goals from offside positions and two from bogus penalties. Especially when we already have a few controversial moments in this WC where referee made a mistake but for some reason the only one getting this focus and narrative is Messi/Argentina.
It doesn't matter how Messi scored those goals. If he had received a red card, which he should have, he wouldn't have scored those goals. You ostensibly agree that he should have got a red card, so I don't see the point of this at all.
You are strawmanning my point.
Me: A clear red wasn't shown to Messi.
You: You're acting like Messi scored from offside and pens.
Correlation - 404 not found.
Either address the points I make, or there really is no point attacking imaginary demons. But from what I see you already conceded that it should have been a red card.
And no. WC 2022 wasn't rigged.
If you can't see, or better to say don't want to see that Argentina and Messi were helped in 2022, I don't really know what to say.
Infantino before the world cup: 'It would be a shame if Messi retired without winning the world cup'
To act as if FIFA had issued a script for the referees instructing them to ensure Argentina won the World Cup is absurd, given that France were awarded two penalties (one of which came in extra time) and the Netherlands were granted 10 minutes added time whilst Argentina were leading 2–1.
The whole "Argentina rigged WC" narrative is just Ronaldo fans cope and psychosis.
Maybe you should have watched the games.
Argentina got every single controversial call their way.
There was no penalty on Di Maria in the finals. He dove. Quite clearly.
Paredes not getting a red for the foul and kicking the ball at the Dutch players.
The penalty against Poland when the ball was already headed and the keeper just barely grazed him.
The penalty against Croatia with the keeper stationary.
No red for Otamendi's foul on Kolo Muani.
No yellow for Messi for the handball.
The list goes on and on. If I bothered to go back to every single game, I am sure I could find more and more.
And in the very first game of the new world cup, surprise surprise, a clear red card not shown to Messi. Hell not even a yellow card.
To quote the haramball coach of the year: 'It's a disgrace. It's embarrassing. An absolute disgrace.'
What even is the point in playing? Just give them the title again and call it quits. Save us all time.
Like I said earlier, for me, this world cup just lost any hype it had.
