I always wonder how Messi actually feels with WC
In 2014, he got close but lost that final.
In 2018, he got so much hate and criticisms.
Then came Scaloni. He made a team that plays for Messi without being dependent on Messi to do everything.
Macallister once said that we press, run, and defend for Messi so he gets to do what he does best. A team whose purpose is to live and die for Messi on the field. And, Messi reciprocated the same for the team. He gives more to this team than he was giving prior to Scaloni era.
And, things changed. Argentina won 2 back to back Copa America and a WC.
So, I wonder how Messi feels - coming onto the World stage as the best player while carrying expections of his country and fans, then getting hate from the same fans in 2018 to a point he had to quit....I can only imagine the mental stress he and his family would be going through to quit at that time.
and from there on rising once again to become the World champion, win Copas and Ballon D'or and now playing freely as World champion in the ongoing world Cup.
