It's possible but I don't think they will lose that badly by halftime. They're going to play defensive.
I guess it depends on Messi's form.
Its not just the players which makes a team dangerous.
It's the tactics and execution of it.
Defensively, verde has a very sound tactic. They form a kind of a web. Downside of this strategy is they have to compromise with their offense.
But what makes Argentina is so good isn't just Messi alone. It's that the team is well linked.
They have one of the best defense amongst the top teams. Even in the WC final, it was the penalties to Mbappe which brought France back into the game.
And, it's because of this linkage, entire team swings from their own defense to offense in a very co-ordinated manner. Such teams doesnt prioritise scoring many goals in a match even against weak teams because throughout the game they stirke balance between holding the line and controlling the game.
Messi is the key who guides this control and then he provides them with that individual moments of brilliance to overcome the opposition defense.
Verde defensive strategy won't give them fruits against such team who likes to dictate the momentum and have control over the game and patiently waits for that one or two moments of brilliance.
Having that said, Argentina would likely win but I don't expect a massive margin.
