I would wonder why they didn’t use maki in egghead. But I suppose you could say the same thing about ACoC or a whole host of other abilities they will undoubtedly show.

Or maybe omen has to do something with awakening zoan.
There two kinds of awakening, one where user looses it's mind and other where they get that stash.
So very possible that Maki is just extension of Awakening ability.
