It does make you wonder though, what's left to power up? Luffy has unlocked Advanced powers of all three forms of Haki *and* Awakened his DF. By all accounts, there's really nothing else to get a power-up for.

Nika with hands and perhaps his hair on fire is a possibility.. not talking about just one attack but change in how he uses fire.

Imu clearly massively outclasses Luffy and is Top 1 all time. Shanks said his power is immeasurable and taking him out rn would also waste all the Gorosei and God’s Knights as well deflate the inevitable Void Century flashback. Luffy beating him this arc would kill all stakes and tension for the rest of the story. However on the other hand Imu winning but somehow not killing Luffy might be just as bad. Kaido, CP9, Aokiji, and Crocodile, all either were too arrogant and lazy to finish Luffy off, naively thought they could break Luffy’s will and turn him into their underling, or weren’t actually hostile to Luffy. Imu has already said he’s let go of his arrogance before descending. As seen by what he said after Harald died, he doesn’t want to take Luffy as subordinate, and he hates him.

Imu's nerf of being outside + Loki using the hybrid + Luffy unlocking a new power up (destroyer Nika?) = Imu losing.

Yeah but I don't think he actually went all out. The thing is he had faith in Sentomaru and Kuma to take down the Straw Hats, so he initially just took it lightly and thought it was a game. He got pissed when he realized Kuma is a traitor and Sentomaru.. I forgot what Sentomaru did tbh he was kind of just there

Kizaru took this job very seriously and if he could’ve escaped ray to kill Luffy, he would’ve. Luffy being below the old gen is pretty clear from egghead. He should finally surpass them after a PU here in Elbaf tho

Luffy is not below an old legend, he defeated Kaido in an all-out slugfest when both of them had similar HP. Chapter’s around the corner, you will see that old Gaban would do nothing to Imu. He might last longer purely because Imu is interested in what he has to say, as the former knows something about the Void Century.

Kaido was stated to be weakened before the main fight started and Luffy came into this fight with a months worth of food in his stomach. Luffys G5 wasn’t weakened at all in Wano.

I don’t expect Gaban to do anything to Imu besides stall, but I am not going to be surprised if Oda for the third time in the past 2 arcs has the old gen be portrayed above Luffy.

Gaban needs to get neg diffed otherwise it ruins Imu’s threat forever. This **** was a deaths door a second ago and somehow he will detain Imu to a high diff fight. It’s ludicrous, hence why I wouldn’t put it past a shot writer like Oda

Oda does suck at powerscaling writing, but he is not a bad writer in all aspects

On the one hand it's absolutely understandable that Luffy needs to and will lose this fight, but the Sanji fight in particular is really important because he needs to save the kids.
Maybe if Imu time limit takes him back to Pangea the two Gods Knight will depower or also be teleported back with him?

The Pentagram serves as a sort of anchor for whoever teleports in. So, if, for lack of a better term, the "energy" of this power is disrupted, they warp back, as seen with the Gorosei.

Saturn sailed in-person to Egghead. So disrupting it didn't really send him anywhere far unlike the other four.
