I was not sure of it, but @nik87 has been saying Conqueror is relative among top tiers. With minimal gaps, only different Application and method of use like weapon or explosion or punch changes the impact.
Imu Haki is not some out of the world kind of shit. He is good as your regular top tier, maybe a little better but that's it.

His main source of power is Omen.

- His oden two sword style was greatest there was at that time.
- akainu and sengoku vary of Wano because of individual like oden, almost yonkou class respect.
- Roger desperation to fight strong people, he even clashed with whitebeard. He is constantly being placed alongside these guys.

Those 5 characters have one thing in common - they all fought Kaido.

Xebec was the captain and WB was nakama and rivalled by Roger. Kaido has personal history with them and those three were on the peak of the strength.

Oden and Shanks - we know kaido fought them as well.


That panel wasn't benchmark of who were stronger than Kaido but whom Kaido fought and whom kaido respects as a fighter. You can say he respected their will power because Kaido further says "Haki transcends all" after this.

It doesn't necessarily implies stronger than Kaido but deep admiration Kaido had for those 5 and he saw glimpses of them in Luffy.


Prime Gaban and Ray could still be stronger than oden yet perhaps Kaido never really fought them one vs one like he did against those 5.

• The reason characters like Harald Garp or imu Saturn weren’t there was because they’re not pirates. Kaido only scaling Luffy to other great pirates
• The only reason Loki wasn’t there was because he deadass just didn’t know anything of Loki. Same way not even Imu himself knew anything
• The reason Rayleigh, Gaban, Shiki, and Kyo weren’t was because they’re simply weaker

Just because oden glaze was annoying doesn’t make it any less intentional. He was Whitebeard’s Rayleigh and only got stronger when he joined Roger
