*Correction:
The "current old me" cannot win against Blackbeard in a head on confrontation.
The implication here is that Ray could potentially have when he was younger.
Also I think it is important to note that nobody really knows how strong blackbeard is, the only person that seems to have a proper handle on his strength is Shanks and that very Shanks has been presssed about Teach since jump even though he doesn't appear to be as impressive as the other Yonko so chances are that there is something there that Shanks can see has experienced that is not obvious with Teach yet. Moreover something that's become pretty evident since Elbaf with Gaban, is that if you are extremely gifted with CoO, it allows you too see deep into the subconcious of someone else so much so that Gaban was able to tell that Sanji had the potential for CoC and even did a complete autospy on his mental. So chances are that truly gifted CoO users can see the actual threat of blacbeard.
Moreover, Blackbeard is always one step ahead of Luffy and Luffy at that point had beaten Kaido, so chances are that Teach was even stronger than Kaido at that point. I mean he already had a whole Admiral in Aokiji under him as a subordinate.

Gaban is not only stacked Haki wise with but he's showing Haki feats beyond anything the Yonko ever did.

Sure, Big Mom had a permanent CoC barrier (which explains her defense), and Kaido has Future Sight and Advanced CoC, but neither of them really had Haki that made you go, "Wow, Kaido's Haki is insane..."
They were known more for their physical power, their durability, and their Devil Fruits; since they rely on Devil Fruits and immense natural toughness, their Haki isn't quite at that same elite level. It’s the same with Oden; like Kaido and Big Mom, he’s known for his durability and incredible power, but his Haki was never really considered exceptional. Plus, Oden suffers from the "flashback effect," so his feats end up looking shockingly weak.
Gaban, on the other hand, is a pure all-rounder, incredibly fast, incredibly strong, and a master of Haki, to the point where he can spam lightning bolts. The trade-off is that he doesn't have a Devil Fruit or the extreme durability of someone like Kaido or Oden.
That doesn't matter, though, because Gaban's AP is strong enough to defeat people like Kaido or Big Mom.
In terms of feats, Gaban doesn't need to shy away from them; in fact, I’d say his AP is significantly stronger than Big Mom's or Oden's.
It actually makes sense why Shanks could one-shot Kid and Killer while Big Mom couldn't.
Shanks is clearly over the other Yonkou like Big Mom or Kaido.

I think we'll see Smoker make a move the next time Crocodile makes a move. That's a rivalry that needs to be settled.
Since Tashigi is clearly Kuina's cousin and part of the Shimotsuki clan that settled on another island than Kuina's family did, I also have Smoker showing up in Wano Act 4 to keep Tashigi from getting murdered by Shiryu. Since Smoker is a fan of Garp, and Shiryu stabbed Garp, I can also see bad blood there.
Likely Tashigi is some form of Wano royalty (we know Zoro is at least somewhat related to a Daimyo).
Possible Smoker does arrive on Elbaph, though.
Smoker also has some ties to the Revs through Dragon, as well. I could see Smoker showing up here with Dragon.
I think Smoker joins the Revolutionaries, it also fits since his big arc, Alabasta, was a revolution.
Tashigi should also be part of the rescue Garp effort, so, I can see that being a focus for Smoker right now. I can see her allying with the Revs, Dragon and Sabo are going to want to save Garp.
Finally, I think after the Giant kids being kidnapped fails, the WG will kidnap the Punk Hazard kids and try to continue experimenting on them to turn them into Giants, and this will make Tashigi and Smoker snap.
I've got Blackbeard kidnapping York, and Neo MADS joining the WG.
