Nami: What?! Is it Luffy?
Usopp: No its someone else, someone whose power is terrifying!

Cant tell if Usopp is refering to Imu or Gaban, but given that Gaban is down and delimbed Id wager its about Imu?

@Kurozumi Wiwi @Zoinks52 @mly90 ,etc
I was thinking the same stuff lol. I'm not sure, since Gaban just released a LOT of haki Usopp could have been referring to him.

I told them Luffy hadn't come close to surpassing Kaido

And here he is, getting outshown by a dying old guy who stated he refused to go to Wano because of Kaido.

RECEIPTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Loki is on Kaido's level, Luffy is still a Yonkou-tweaner. Still has the same problem: his cool downs make him useless in true 1v1s.

1v1s in this series last a long time, and your strongest form lasting for 5-10 minutes before turning you into a useless, hungry, shrimp for 5 minutes is NOT functional in a 1v1.

Luffy needs other people to fight with him in order to be successful, and that's why he's not a true Yonkou level pirate.

The true top tier, Loki, Shanks, Kaido, Big Mom, Newgate, Roger, Shiki, Blackbeard, they don't need someone else to save them in the middle of a fight like Luffy. They handle their business themselves.

Until Luffy fixes his cooldowns, he's a Yonkou in name only.

Makes no sense to say Gaban has a terrifying power and then we see the dude down on the ground with no arm. But maybe, idk lol.
There is a timejump between those events, indicates by those panels

They were already talking about imu last chapter so confusing it with luffy or reattabilish imu in the same scene again this chapter makes no sense it would be a repeat of the last one

This just means Kaido is weaker then we thought lol. I mean he aknowledged pre G5 Luffy as someone that can go toe to toe with him lol. Its okay man.

Amazing, a good and needed slap in the face for Luffy, I would love for it to be explored in more details further, but this is great. It confirms the fact that Luffy still has room for growth and for such a character, it's not an easy thing to do.

Gaban is stronger that I thought. I think it's fair to say that Imu is also nerfed massively. He is bleeding, he might be starting to feel exhausted a bit. It's a good thing for us, perhaps that attack will make him retreat for the moment.

The idea of Luffy standing up and fighting one last big time seems to be on the table, and frankly, as a Yonko, this is the level of resiliance that we should expect. (Remember just how much White beard tanked before kicking the bucket). Luffy is a tank of stamina and resilience, at this point this should not be too much of a surprised for him to be able to fight just enough to make Imu retreat for good. Even if I would love for him to stay on the floor and Usopp saving him

:pepepopcorn:

This will not be enough tho. Luffy is still cocky and he didn't listen to Gaban, which means that he has not been humbled enough to understand his shortcoming just yet (at least if we trust the two translations that I have seen - which are horrible btw I'm waiting for TCB to correct that) this could mean that something darker is about to happen, something bigger than just Gaban losing an arm... and frankly, I'm a little bit afraid now.. or......

... ironically Gaban losing an arm saving Luffy is actually a good thing (for luffy, not gaban haha), this COULD place Luffy in the same position has his childhood. and we know that he didn't tank that too well. Of course, Shanks was important to him so it won't be as dramatic, but it still could trigger a self-reflection.

Anyway amazing chapter
