Speculations what power up does Luffy need to be able to hurt Imu?

I think it's unrealistic to expect Luffy to be able to beat Imu right away. But he SHOULD be able to hurt Imu. He had ONE PUNCH (no pun intended) that connect to Imu.

My question is the following: What does Luffy need to be able to hurt Imu?

More Haki? Being in sync with his Devil Fruit? Another kind of powerup?

He needs a haki burst to turn Imu's abilities off.

He's not getting a power up, he will fight with what he has. His df and haki but he has to use them better or more seriously than he already is.

It is not, because he is a damage accumulation type of character so he would need to spam that ability...
...which I dont know if it's plausible considering haki is well known as limited resource.

Just because he beat Kaido, doesn't mean he can pull off a decisive win against an admiral. Luffy's biggest obstacle with Kaido was bypassing his durability. The Admirals have different powers entirely and have some of the strongest haki in the series even with just Ryou.

But you right the nerf is ridiculous. Luffy is a Zoan now and is the only one with such a drastix drawback.
