Not even weaten writers would humiliated villains like oda.

In most media, villains are well respected and portray well.

I mean not always. I think most shonen have a bad relationship with antagonists. Bleach has very fun minor antagonists but two very bad main ones (though TYBW anime is fixing Yhwach massively, let's see if he lands).

Even Kishimoto couldn't allow Madara to kill off the 5 Kage. With Oda, I guess it's more prevalent because it's a repeated theme every arc. He keeps putting characters in positions where they should be killed and finds ways to write himself out of needing to follow through.

We all know how bad Mashima handled certain characters, arcs and asspulls but Idk... I don't see a point to claim "This is Fairy Tail levels of writing" when it's actually far worse. Even Mashima had standards for his final villains.

I mean, I think we're finally at the stage of vibes based powerscaling. Erza can do it because "she's Erza" despite being like, 200% nerfed, blind, deaf(?) and more against a pretty formidable Tartarus Demon.

Hiro may not have fumbled his biggest two antagonists like Oda is with Imu but the general sentiment seems to be, from my observations;

"Shit is going to happen and you need to find ways to justify it, cause the author is more interested in seeing it than making it happen logically"

Yes, a totally invincible villain with fifty different powers is so much better. Except when they actually have to lose and it's never satisfying because they've been established as so strong.
