Yes but dont confuse manhandling Harald with beating Harald.
I have already explained this, many times even.
While Loki beats Harald at his own game - size advantage, he ultimately cannot beat Harald.
Why? Because Harald's haki is stronger and regenerates everything Loki has to offer.

It simply happened that a convenient plot device showed up and Harald himself removed that major obstacle - his haki defense.
While Loki would continue to beat him black and blue, he wouldnt be able to make damage stick and would gas out and Harald would prevail in the end.

Loki was wounding Harald's Haki defense included.

But I do agree that if Harald didn't return to being himself, the fight would have been different.

Well a character doesn't have to outright SAY they got stronger in order to prove it, but I think your overall point is true. Oda didn't give enough buildup to Hajrudin being this strong, his only impressive feat in over a decade is him blowing away a MMA with the help of Gerd and Goldberg.

Imagine if Smoker Lost High Diff to Vergo and then Sent Hybrid Kaido Flying with a punch in Wano……with 0 explanation on his strength and development . Thats essentially what has happened here.

I've been saying this for weeks now. Oda doesn't seem to understand that he can't just treat Imu like he's another Kaido or Doflamingo. He's not some scrub that'll get powercreeped in an arc or two. Imu is a serious villain that's meant to be one of the top 4 strongest in the verse.

Well, if the Burned Guy is at Lodestar, the amount of arcs between here and Mariejois isn't quite as far as one may think:
