If Oda wanted Garling to be the endgame villain, Oda wouldn't have humiliated him in God Valley, and instead Oda would have started builing him up.
You could argue that Oda makes BB humiliated too, but we are talking about the final saga now, and Garling was just recently introduced.
Though, I can see Garling having some form of betrayal, he is not endgame.

I'm not gonna hold that track record against you, I like this garling idea, it would be very surprising to the fanbase if Garling usurps Imu.

The entire WG is built on Imu and WG wanker whether Garling or the admirals are downstream of Imu.

Without Imu, the fascism of the WG would get slightly depersonnalized. Which would still be interesting especially if someone like Garlin gets on top.
