It’s possible that the context was supposed to be about losing track of Gunkimu due to size. But I think it’s a bit wrong to say that the context of his size exhausting him is a mistranslation

I mean in that very chapter and the chapter before he was losing track of Gunkimu so that follows.

The fact that you are unsure, it means is something that can be bad and it could undermine said character.

If I have to guess it's something related to black blades, probably how you can create one and that is not haki but also something different that does not correlate to the user haki proficiency. So it could be a revelation that black blades are not created only with haki but also with something external. This could make having them not that "special" hakiwise anymore. :quest:
