It depends on the pace and how he places the flashbacks, 3 long flashbacks that aren't everyone's cup of tea plus a quick flashbacks of things people care about, some powerscaling non flashback panels then a drawn out flash back on rinse and repeat with some meat in the middle is really gonna hurt some of the fans

I equally enjoy the powerscaling, the narrative and the hype, if the balance isn't right for me I will get tired. I can't speak for anyone else, I've got a pretty limited attention span if I'm not invested.
People are gonna fucking love it and some will hate it, I'm just one of the ones who might tend the latter
Yeah, that's fair, and I think that's ultimately the problem with long running manga in general. The format is honestly designed to cannibalize itself over time. The longer a series runs, the harder it becomes to keep everyone equally invested, especially when different parts of the fanbase are reading for completely different reasons.

I still read Conan, JoJo, Ippo, and those series have maybe 10% of the fanbase/sales and general attention they had during their respective peaks. One Piece has actually done a pretty impressive job retaining a much bigger portion of its audience for as long as it has, but even then, most fans will naturally go through a 3–5 year period where they're really locked in before their interest starts to wane off. Once you're asking people to stay invested for 10, 15, 20+ years, it really gets to the point where you pick and choose which parts you really enjoy, and which you just tolerate.

And I think Oda also put himself in a pretty impossible situation by underestimating just how massive the world and story he created would become. He has all these ideas, mysteries, characters, islands, flashbacks, lore, etc that he wants to pay off, but he's also at the point where he has to start deciding what actually deserves page time and what needs to be cut or condensed. So you see a lot of inconsistencies in chapters where you're baffled by why this specific subplot got this much focus as opposed to others. He obviously wants to finish the story before he dies (and I'll be honest with you, I still don't think he will), so there's a constant balancing act between giving things the buildup they deserve and simply moving the plot forward.

That's why I don't really expect the final stretch to satisfy everyone. Some people are going to love the lore dumps and flashbacks, others are going to get bored and just want the fights and progression, and then there are people like me who enjoy a bit of everything as long as the balance is right.

At this point I just try to enjoy whatever works for me and meme the parts that don't lol It's a lot more enjoyable than constantly expecting Oda to deliver the exact version of the story that's living in my head.

Sanji will likely use hands for first time Ivankov knows the weakness was his ability to not use one . It will be interesting if this will achieve to attain him to CoC .
I don't think he will start using his hands. I do think that making him block Longinus with his hands and immediately unlocking CoC would be one of the best ways to awaken such an ability. Some things are more important that a vow

Chapter 1196 will focus on sanji finishing up Killingham, kids being saved from zaza. 1197-1200 will be zoan hybrid loki vs imu, then luffy coming back again as G5 with coated conqueror haki and shit finish his job in making imu return to holy land.

Nah the term wings does not mean shit
But the only reason why you are assuming wings are close is because Rayleigh and Gaban were close but in that case Roger and Gaban were close too.

Either accept Luffy ~ Sanji or accept Zoro need Sanji.

Like I told you multiple times you cant have your cake and eat it too.

Anyways at this point Zoro ~ Luffy >>>> Sanji

Post Elbaf it is probably gonna be Zoro ~ Luffy >= Sanji

Zoro will beat Luffy more times than not tho.
Luffy literally no diffs Zoro, they're not even close at this point in the story. Even Imu can't cut through Luffy's coa

Oh certainly, oda has pulled off a one in a million story, gets the bucks, keeps the fans, expands the verse in massive bounds at a time. Naturally some of the hype will wane and he has done bloody Well to keep this much traction for so long, dragonball is it's only true rival for fanbase retention, longevity, mass hysteria when massive things happen(db movies go off tap)

I think hate was a strong phrase, it is definitely about tolerating the crap and enjoying the parts you can. I just think I'm at a point that I mayve grown out of the week to week slog just for a flashback morsel

Hell it might be best for me to take a break for a while before the final arc and just stay the fuck away from spoilers BC this shit is a lot more enjoyable on rereads let alone experiencing 20-30 chapters back to back

(Ngl I reread arcs all the freaking time just to binge it while having the newer context)

Honestly, how would Sommers go against sanji?

I don't think zoro would've struggled with killingham as much as sanji is.

Killingham seems more rash and hotheaded

Where Sommers is a lil more calculated but a bitch once spooked lmao
The only difference is that Sanji doesn't have CoC yet to hurt an Holy Bum.
We just saw in this chapter (and also many chapters ago) that without regen they are no match for the cook, Sanji dismantled Ultra Killingham with a kick.
