But to what end does it make sense?! I understand suicidal tendencies but there have always been stakes outside of sanji that his fights entail. Why would taking damage purposefully fulfil those obligations. Not fighting woman is part of his core and so that is considered to be acceptable to who he is but taking punishment when his friend's lives are at stake is such a weird position.

Two main reasons:
1. He fights recklessly cause he doesn’t believe his physical condition after the fight matters. Look at the Jabra fight for example, he willingly took Jabras ultimate attack to land a devastating blow when he probably could’ve created another opening to do so in a different fashion.
2. He genuinely thinks he deserves the punishment cause germa taught him that he deserves to get hurt cause that’s his fault “as a failure”

I guess but it just feels to sudden to me. There's really no overt indications that he disregards damage done to his body. Maybe uts meant to be subtle but it just feels jarring.

I am confused.

Sanji has exo. He would be fine anyway.

Flashback talks about how Sanji was able to defeat okamas but sustained injuries. Iva says it's because he lacks self love and thus he doesn't dodge.

This is right before his new PU. So flashback is linked with his new PU

So, if he starts showing self love then he would dodge more to sustain less injuries ----> more like FS..but then he already has exo.

But, we need CoC coating and the flashback hasn't touched this aspect at all
