Biggest thing was confirmation that "5 years left" was a measurement of Luffy's Journey to Laugh Tale and "learning what One Piece is", not an actual measure of progess on finishing the entire story.
Oda believes progress in his story is a measurement Luffy's actual travels toward One Piece. This is why he called Amazon Lily, Impel Down and Marineford side-stories a few years ago. This is why he probably considers the "end" to Luffy's journey finding One Piece, but not exactly the point at which the story ends.
Basically, its very likely the Final War is after this point, at least when Luffy and crew participate in it.
