How is teaming up a L? Last time I checked that's what happens in war. Mihawk let Zoro go because he saw potential in him to grow stronger and one day give him a run for his title. That argument does not work with the Vista situation, because that guy is in his prime. Mihawk didn't end it quickly because he couldn't. He's not the type of person to let someone walk away that he can easily defeat just so he can waste his time at a later date. And of course Mihawk is superior, but that wasn't the point of my post. It was to be used as an example that people don't need to be shown to have mountain level feats to be on that level. Simply matching blows with someone whose casual swings can cut a mountain, puts Vista's energy output at least to that level.
