If you thought Carrot wouldn't have fought Perospero during this arc then that's your fault for being in denial, Oda pretty much setup a fight between the two ever since Pedro sacrificed himself. Carrot and now Wanda were going to fight Perospero during this arc whether you like it or not, also the fight might actually be good since we will be seeing Perospero go all out that's if Oda doesn't off screen it.

You misunderstood, I have never said that Perospero wouldn't have a confrontation with the Minks. What I said that it would be a real waste if his only role at Onigashima was just to have this fight with Minks. If Oda doesn't act on him continying to attempt to break the alliance between his mother and Kaido then it will be really disappointing.
