Will Sabo surpass Akainu?

Akainu murdered Ace. But his will carries on in Sabo, as witnessed when he told Burgess upon roasting him, that it seems like Ace didn't forgive him. While the Magu Magu no Mi is higher in the hierarchy, Oda, in the SBS, specifically said that this doesn't tell you how the fight will turn out and that a higher ranked DF isn't an autowin. And there are some arguing that Sabo's fire will indeed surpass Akainu's magma by getting hotter (getting blue).

Plus, with Luffy eventually surpassing the strongest creature Kaido and with BB being hyped up as the final opponent (bar Imu we have no info on regarding his power level), it opens the possibility for Akainu to be assigned to some ally of Luffy, while Luffy will aim for stronger guys than Akainu, who is but the outer face of the WG.

Who sees it coming and who not? I personally see a case for both. Wouldn't be surprised by either outcome.

It could go either way to be honest. Current Sabo should be close to Admiral level and if he does awakened his fruit in the final war then I can see him getting on Sakazuki's level.

Of course Sabo is gonna surpass Akainu. Oda has made it very clear that Sabo will be the one to beat/kill Akainu. Not only has Sabo clearly obtained Ace’s will, but the very first time that Sabo was ever mentioned in the story was right after Akainu fisted Ace. The foreshadowing is very obvious.

Strongest fighter of the strongest organization who is the only one who managed to scar Luffy mentally and physically is not losing to the right hand of the Revos

Plus the fact that Sakazuki and Dragon already have history while Sabo never even met the admiral

Add the fact that Sabo stated that the enemy is the WG (CD & CP0)

Akainu is the Blackbeard of the Navy and is only losing to Luffy and/or Dragon

Sabo is the best candidate to end Akainu and that of course will be a fair fight. Also Sabo has always been portrayed like some sort of 2nd Ace and aside df that is true also for power. So I will not say that Sabo will fullfill the pirate king potential Ace had, cause in the end he is not Ace, anyway since he was portrayed as an almost equal to Ace he will for sure reach a level above a simple fleet admiral.

He will be lucky to act as a decent support for Luffy but he should be good enough and I also don't think he will die either. Oda won't make another brother die, it should be a channeled effort signing the revenge of the brothers.

Luffy will not be PK at the time yet by the way, not sure who thinks that how he/she did imagine that.

What does Sabo have to do with Akainu? Do people really think that Luffy isn't going to fight the person who gave him his greatest physical and emotional injury?

Besides that, Oda still likes to wank dead characters, so the fantasy that Oda is going to make Sabo do something that Ace couldn't with barely a year with the mera fruit while Ace had 3 years is extremely unlikely. Marco already has blue flames, so that is already redundant as well.

It seems that a lot of people that want Sabo to fight Akainu simply don't think he's still going to be a threat for Luffy in the future. One Piece isn't rocket science, the strongest Pirate fighting for absolute freedom fighting the strongest Marine who believes in Absolute justice should really not be a surprise at this point.

Luffy vs Imu = The ultimate D vs the ultimate CD. The most free man in the world vs the most tyrannical man in the world.

Sabo vs Akainu = leader of the Revolutionary Army vs leader of the Marines

Luffy could certainly end up facing Imu. Fighting Akainu does not preclude him from that, neither does that mean that Im is necessarily a fighter. The power & fear of the Tennryubito doesn't come from their individual might but those that they control and their greatest fighting force.

Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army btw. I thought that was already common knowledge. Besides that, the Revolutionaries' targets are the Celestials. The Marines main opponents are Pirates. The antagonism between Marines & Pirates is robust. The Revolutionaries are portrayed as 3rd parties in that conflict and nowhere near as robust.

I think Akainu will either fight Dragon or Fujitora

Dragon can fight either Akainu or the CPO leader

I can see Sabo fighting the second strongest CPO like Lucci or something like that

Sabo fighting and beating Akainu is not great feeling wise, we need some conflict of justice during the fight, conflict of believes etc with Sabo the weight of the fight will be weak

Luffy got over it, he holds no grudge against Akainu personally. iirc there is some scan indicating it too. Since Ace died like a pirate after all.

Garp is also cool with Akainu nowadays.
His reactions say otherwise. Just hearing Akainu's name made him clutch his wound and grimace. He kept on eating after hearing Blackbeard's name though with no significant reaction.

It's also storytelling 101 to know that coming face to face with Akainu again is going to bring it all up. Akainu is certainly not the kind to forgo mocking Luffy about it and saying it is his turn to get killed, especially when Akainu is the one who brought up andf focused on the evil potential in Luffy all throughout the war and went to such lengths to try and kill him (and almost succeeding).

Do you see anyone being nearly as important to Akainu as Luffy? Dragon is the closest, but no other living person would make Akainu even blink.

"Dragon's son." It's one or the other for Akainu to try and fist. No one else would have anywhere near the build up or significance.....especially when we are talking about the World's Worst Criminal and Pirate King. I don't see the Fleet Admiral settling for less.
