Who said fighting Shiryu will affect his CoC?
I mentioned Shiryu because of CoO.
There is no stretch when talking about a character who wants to be the strongest.

According to the Viz, Zoro thought Brook was trolling him about having CoC

According to VIZ, Zoro says he has nothing to do with the island trembling, same what he said in unofficial translation.
Zoro confirmed his own CoC back at FMI if your goal was to doubt it so you are fighting a losing battle.

Surpassing Roger is doing what Roger couldnt - freeing the world from the WG tyranny.

Given how much Oda loves to draw parallels b/w the two; I doubt Luffy won't replicate almost all of Roger's noteworthy accomplishments.

Why not, especially considering that Luffy's first time seemed like built up mainly because, first, he was way weaker than current Zoro (so are their wills), and second, we didn't really know anything about haki and Oda needed to introduce it in an approachable way?

I will believe Zoro killing Kaido when I see it. Right now I'm not buying any killing theory in a manga where Kyros left Diamante alive or Oven couldn't murder Pound.

Zoro is sure to acomplish and stand above all swordmans ....a compete dream unlike the rest who failed.

That was my bad but still I don't think Zoro will end up having a better CoC and CoO than Luffy...Imagine the future pirate king's first mate having all three haki type better than him... I will honestly question Oda's sanity.
The way I see it...Zoro = CoA Specialist, Sanji = CoO Specialist and Luffy = CoC specialist

Also, as you said that's how you read Zoro reaction, so that's pretty much it. I think it would be a nice scene not only for Zoro but for people witnessing it and its impact in how he's perceived throughout the world.
