Respect is clearly already there, but competition too.
During all Udon and the naval battle they have been salty at each other. Luffy never saw other SN as rivals, neither Law.
I can put my balls on fire right now that after the war Kidd Pirates will be the only crew to still rapresent a danger for Luffy's dream.

What I mean is I don't see them fighting in the near future, and don't see them fighting over the pirate King title. I may be wrong but I don't think Oda has time for that. Maybe he wanted to but now to me it seems too late for that.
BB and the WG/marines are the enemies left with maybe a transitional arc where he learn awakening or adv CoC.

Oda can do A WHOLE LOT MORE with thousands of characters created and their DF too... Kidd is no different imo, because after this arc, his relevence to the story will get LESS AND LESS as time passes...
I don't think for one second that there will be an arc where Kidd is major opponent for luffy... we are too late in series for that... we are on speed train to finish the series... and Kidd just imo will be one of the contineous rivals who just show up aiding Luffyor SHs in different fights... but not really someone who will for example become major opponent for Luffy and get that build up... most supernoav aren't anyway

I have zero problem in Kidd playing bigger role than my expectation...
But my only concern is you all "spamming threads after threads" hating on Oda and on One Piece when the arc finishes and series finishes and your guy has roles that didn't meet your expectations...

I won’t hate Oda for giving Kid less of a role than I expect from him but I will complain if he humiliates Kid’s character after giving him the portrayal he has. Oda is the one who set the expectation of Kid being a big rival to Luffy.

Right, but he isn't the main character, so let's accept it that one piece is Oda's manga, not us.
I think Kid's df can do like:
- asura path Nagato
- float by magnetism (if he can control the direction so fluid) like doffy by string
- flying with ease like doffy so relax being so far from cloud so doffy need long string.
in terms of current chapter, he can just sent his metal way up to the hole that Kaido made (like issho at dressrosa) then Kid float to sky like he did when with luffy & law before Jimbeiappearance.. 'unless' Kid can't control his Df so well / Kid is just a kid who only can attract & repel.

See... this is the expectation that ODA NEVER GAVE.... yet you claim that Oda did that... Kidd being the WB for Luffy is just a huuuuuge stretch from you guys... and Oda NEVER ONCE gave a small panel of Kidd having some resemblence to WB... not once...
In One Piece system... just remember this... when Oda wants to make parallel... he will MAKE SURE you see it clearly.... like for example having someone on the side saying "this reminds of of Old man WB...etc."
Do you actually know which character got the WB parallel from Oda???? Believe it or not... it's Luffy in Fishman island when he was protecting it, and some random nameless guy say "he reminds me of WB"
Or the "sake cup of sons" of SH grand fleet reminding us of the "Sons of WB"

You completely misinterpreted what I said, I didn’t mean that Kid’s character would be similar to Whitebeard in anyway, Kid is his own character, there are actually more parallels between him and Shanks.
I was saying in the same way Roger had Whitebeard as a rival, Luffy will have Kid as a rival at the end of One Piece and Kid will be like Whitebeard in that dynamic.
