Since there is no Break next week (confirmed right?) Looks like Oda is setting up 999 and perhaps chapter 1000 from hereon end.
Strange place to suddenly have the last Tobi Roppo reveal their DF powers and seemingly setting up match-ups. Kudos to everyone who guessed Who's Who's fruit correctly. Also Sasaki being a Triceratops is rather neat. Black Maria being a Spider. So obvious now.
Apoo getting back up, even for a moment - is impressive. He really has outdone himself. Never again will fans underestimate him. It also hints that being a Beast Pirate member one has to be able to take hits and damage and somehow, keep on going. Hawkins had a tricky Paramecia, but Apoo is doing it all one his own physical stats.
Yamato appears at the end and we get a flashback with Ace? See how it goes. It might extend into chapter 1000 or just set it up. Not sure how to feel about it tbh. Have to see the actual execution first.

On a side note, Oda is really making mythical zoan fruits impressive, which is good comparatively to regular zoan fruits which seemed to be lacking in versatility outside of increase physical stats
With his mythical zoan, Marco can
- Fly
- Increase physical stats with full zoan and hybrid form
- Regenerate from any damage until a certain limit
- Transfer healing to other people(although limited) to the point of helping in boosting capabilities to stop Queen's virus
- Generate blue flames superior to regular fire
No wonder it's rarer than even logia
Kaido on the other hand gains
- Flight
- Increase in durability
- Increase in physical stats with full zoan and hybrid
- Elemental range attacks(fire, thunder, wind)
And we know normal zoans' awakening grants you a great recovery speed too, let alone a mythical zoan then
Knowing this though, it's a bit shame that Kaido has no mythical zoan user in his crew when he has beast theme

Jinbe vs Who’s Who? Seems pretty cool. Of the Tobi Roppo, he seems to have the standing of a calamity, power wise, based on his own words, so it could be a really good initial test. Not sure if these are the beginnings of the final matchups though. Also figured that Black Maria was a spider zoan, though to be fair, I only guessed it because I thought her name would be a hint for the Black Widow.
Oda doesn't care about what is better. He is about to draw Sanji and Black Maria filler fight, he won't lose his chance of drawing Ace again for his numerous japanese fans.
He had to create a copy of Ace because he decided to kill him but apparently losing time with that "character" is not enough. Ace death has to haunt us until the end of time

I just realized that Onigumo, who is hyped by Admiral wankers, now has inferior portrayal to Black Maria 
She has an Ancient Zoan spider while he only has a regular Zoan spider. So much for Onigumo being YC2 level @Admiral Lee Hung
