Well Whitebeard died. Kaido is not exactly the same character but this is a war and even extremely relevant characters could die, even if it's Oda we are talking about. After all so many guys died in Marineford and even guys of utmost importance did after all.
Too bad kidd never gets any shine so his fanboys can't celebrate.
You peeps think Kidd is going to magically harm Kaido with scrap metal, but pretend Zoro's entire journey in Wano, Enma and parallels to both Oden and Ryuma doesn't exsist.
You're expecting far too much from a guy who has no build up.

He never had any shine yet because Oda progressively introduces stronger characters as the series progresses, it’s the same reason we haven’t seen anything from Mihawk or Dragon and the same reason why Crocodile was the villian in Alabasta instead of Doflamingo.
Kid is on another level and you’re going to see that when he fights Kaido.
That seems to be the case, but then if you look at it deeper, Marineford was all about saving Ace, but ultimately he died in the end.
In Wano it's all about killing Kaido. So if Wano is meant to serve as a counterpoint to Marineford, then wouldn't that mean he ultimately lives in the end?
In one arc it was all about saving someone, while in the other, it's all about killing someone.
Kaido’s not a counterpart to Ace though, he’s one to Whitebeard. Marineford and Wano are counterparts to each other because both represent a total change of the status quo both in-series and out- the World’s Strongest, an Emperor, former Rocks Pirate, being defeated by a D. Marineford brought about the time skip, Wano will bring around Luffy being a Great Pirate and the series being at the beginning of the end.
I think the most that can be compared between Ace and Kaido is that their deaths might be similarity bittersweet, where Luffy achieving his goal doesn’t make him the outright winner. Luffy did save Ace to a great extent, physically and spiritually. By freeing him from the execution platform he allowed Ace to die of his own volition. There’s a great deal of difference between an execution and a sacrifice for another. It allowed Ace to make a choice, and die as a free man- for the brother he chose, not the father he never knew and was being executed for- and we know how important freedom is in One Piece. And he gave Ace to the answer of the question he was looking for all his life- it was a good thing that he had been born.
The death of Kaido might similarly not be a total success. It won’t bring back Oden, Toki and Yasu, for one thing. If Kaido does kill someone (like Kin’emon), Luffy will have lost while winning, much like he did at Marineford. Oda did say that there would be a cost to victory here, after all.
He never had any shine yet because Oda progressively introduces stronger characters as the series progresses, it’s the same reason we haven’t seen anything from Mihawk or Dragon and the same reason why Crocodile was the villian in Alabasta instead of Doflamingo.
The thing I find ironic is that y'all go nuts when someone states a fact about Zoro, but you're the first who do everything possible on this earth to shit on other characters (Kidd, Law, hell even Luffy who is Zoro's captain)
If y'all are trying to prove a point, let me tell you: you're failing at it.
That said, keep downplaying and hating on Eustass
But don't blame Oda for "bad writing" when facts won't fit your headcanon
The scabbards will get a second wind, mark my words. They’re down but they’re not out, Kid mid-diffs Zoro at best, you’re not very bright to suggest he alone can bring down Kaido though, no one is killing Kaido by themselves, when I say Kid will kill him, I’m talking about delivering a final blow after he’s already greatly weakened or defeated by Luffy, it’s going to take a team effort to beat him but imo Kid or the Scabbards will put him out of his misery, or BB will come to collect his DF.
Ya’ll sleeping on Kid hard, Zoro is a good character but he’s trash compared to most supernova captains, he ain’t touching Kid.
They have much more importance than him this arc and I’d argue Kid has equal importance to Zoro in the story, he’s going to become the strongest in OP world next to Luffy at the end of the series.
No name Zoro attack>>> PG
I think you misunderstood @KiriNigiri . Noone said Zoro would 1v1 Kaido but he will get the finishing blow.
Brook has more panels than Kidd this arc. Sorry but Kidd isn't that important
Why Zoro will kill Kaido
Nothing, except the tons of forshadowing and him outright saying it last chapter.
Yes because thats what oda does with inherited will, he makes you do the exact same thing as the will youve inherited and not surpass it,
luffy will be pk and not beat the wg like roger and start a new pirate era right...
this is odens will what he wanted to do kaido
This is inherited will
There is no set up just to scar kaido
The set up for the one who opens the scar is the one kaido thinks is the one worthy of killing him.
This is actually whats said and this is the whole sequence of that part,
It starts of with doji outright saying this fight isnt over until his head is severed. I e this war wont be over until hes dead.
so kaidos words
I saw a visage of oden
I could have let you kill me
But you are not oden
We will never see a monstrous samurai like oden again
Its too shallow you dont even have enough power to open the old wound
people just focus on his last line instead of his whole speech and just say zoro will just open the wound without looking at why kaido said that,
kaido was going to let the scabbards kill him until he realized they are not oden they are not as strong as oden they couldnt even open the wound oden gave him
so the samurai that CAN open the scar that IS as monstrous as oden IS the one he will accept that kills him.
The set up isnt for there to be someone to just open the wound, but the one who does that is capable of killing him. And thats kaidos own view.
Besides oden had kaido one blow from death if zoro does the same theres no one to save him.
This clearly isnt an arc where odas doing the usual
oda has never had zoro THIS adamant to fight the main villian
so no this isnt luffys fight because they usually wont interfere with each others fight going all the way back to mihawk
The purpose of this raid was and isnt for luffy to beat kaido or anyone to just simply BEAT kaido
its to kill kaido and orochi
as the scabbards (one of many instances) said a few chapters a go
Its zoro not luffy who met the princess of the arc saving odens daughter
who met yasu
who got odens sword and will
who literally mirrored things oden did in his flashback
who went around wano seeing its plight
even the citizens of wano in the flower capital know what needs to be done
beating kaido achieves nothing.
And all that without even mentioing ryuma the god of wanos legend of slaying a dragon above the flower capital

Zoro will do damage for sure but he won’t kill him, Kid will, Zoro will only reenact Oden and Ryuma’s actions of scarring Kaido and slicing a Dragon over the capital and that will be his moment, then he’s going to get bodied and it will be up to Luffy and the rest of the supernovas to take down Kaido.
Everyone will go down but do damage before they do and Luffy will fight and beat an injured Kaido who will then be finished off and killed by Kid after the fight has ended while he’s down.

That's all to be seen. Just like the final battles haven't even been set yet, except for a few Tobi Roppo's and Strawhats'. Patience always takes the road first, speculation, specially when unlikely due not being supported by serious elements, comes next.
