Eastern dragons are sea gods in mythology

Remember in fishman island? Text royal castle has a giant kaido type dragon statue on it

Even in pokemon there's two dragon pokemon. The first is that common one that belreaths fire and looks like a western dragon, charzard. Then there's a water type dragon pokemon. That looks like kaido, an eastern dragon.

So it looks like Kaido got the mythical carp DF that transformed into a dragon.
