You're misunderstanding. Kaido isn't a carp that turns into a dragon. He's just a dragon.

The same way Katrina Devon is not fox that turns into a kitsune. She's just a kitsune.

The carp thing is from the story in the myth. In fact it's about the same as the fox. Both animals live for a hundred years and get to evolve into something else.


Devon doesn't turn into a regular fox that then turns into kitsune. So kaido doesn't turn into a carp that then turns into a dragon

He was an apprentice but we've seen guys like rockstar as apprentices on shanks' crew yet they have 94 milion bounties

So I assume being an apprentice on the biggest crew ever means kaido wasnt actually a slouch. Everyone else was just wayyy better.
