If Zoro was that special and equal to Luffy
Sanji and Jinbei wouldn't have bigger bounties than him, especially Sanji whom he shared with the crew since the beginning.

This crap doesn't happen to captain, VCs or Conquerors where someone weaker than them in the crew has bigger bounty and spotlight than them.

If Zoro is really that special,
He would have CoC and real presence as VC. He wouldn't just be a sidekick.

Yup. Also back in Punk Hazard, Zoro also told Luffy that he should take things more seriously in the New World and Luffy say ok and Zoro smiled at the end. Which means that Luffy and Zoro both trust and respect each others.

“Luffy may suffer for his crewmates, but he suffers with Zoro”

Luffy/Zoro to me are one of the closest to pretimeskip Guts/Griffith. Guts even killed 100 men to protect Casca. Zoro took out 100 bounty hunters in Whiskey Peaks to protect his crew.
And this scene reminded me of Zoro, as Guts has Griffiths back and does his “dirty work”.
Guts was even as strong as Griffith then.
You either love Zoro or ya love to hate him

Zoro just sitting on the roof watching Luffy and the Wank Novels are already in print :seriously:

It only takes blowing things out of proportion here and there and ignoring moments of lesser portrayal to build an otherwise proposterous narrative.

Like his encounter with Fujitora where he did not do better than G2/G3 Luffy did by the end of Dressrosa, who in turn was shown to be heavily outmatched by Katakuri or forced to use G4 very early on even against just one of Cracker's biscuit soldiers.

Zoro got stronger through every arc as Oda gives boosts to the SH's from island to island regardless of how much they are pushed in combat, got stronger through Wano some more where he was a fugitive and had a number of fights, and got one more significat boost through his Enma training



Right now he probably is YFM level give or take, with his best attributes like swordsmanship skills and attack power standing out the way Katakuri's CoO is exceptional among YFM.
