How much nerf would Zoro receive if he used metal sticks instead of swords? Probably by 95%.
How much nerf would Law receive if he used a metal stick instead of a sword? Probably 5%.
Meaningless arbitrary numbers. That’s a great argument. We’ll just ignore all the panels of Law desperately using his sword to fend off attacks, and using his sword to deliver them.
And I thought a scythe was basically the same thing as a sword, so why is Zoro now so heavily nerfed?
Get the difference. Law uses his sword mainly for stalling and parrying.
A completely vital part of fighting.
And also for attacking, as much as you want to pretend otherwise.
Doing a small cut on a no name gifter was in fact the only sword related attack he did so far.
Scan, Injection Shot, Radio Knife, Sterbern...
Against Smoker? Just stalling. Against Doffy's clone? Just stalling. Blocking overheat. All things he could've done with a metal stick, literally.
Marvellous. Zoro is also now completely as powerful with a metal stick. Basically a sword, you know. Same motions to block, defend, deliver attacks.
While, with that same metal stick, he would have the full range of offensive moves from his room. Cutting everything within his room, removing hearts, ripping organs apart.
He wouldn’t be able to cut anything with a metal stick. The keyword there is ”cut”, it needs a blade.
And this still ignores the fact that a fight is about more than just landing attacks. Yeah, if everyone just stood still and let Law land Gamma Knife on them he could win without his sword. Thing is, fights don’t work like that.
When people get this difference, maybe we can continue.
When will you get that what is relevant is what Law actually does, not what your fanfiction version of him.
Doesn't change the fact that it's his DF that does the job. SFX slice, what is this supposed to mean? Yeah, he slices his opponents, but it's done with his Ope fruit, not through his sword.
“Slice“ shows that it is a cut. Cutting is done with a sharp weapon, not with metal sticks.
There is absolutely no reason to think that Law could
slice an opponent in half with anything other than a bladed weapon. Not once has he ever used his fingers to do it. This is because his Room is meant to be his operating theatre, where he the surgeon. Have you ever heard of a surgeon performing an amputation or dissection with anything blunt? No, he needs to use a blade. And that then leads us back to, why use a sword and not a scalpel? Because he’s a swordsman, and that’s the weapon he fights best with.
Brooks sword(smanship) is still his main combat power. His DF is supplementary. It's different with Law. As for Law, his swordsmanship is supplementary, while his DF is his main and by far strongest asset.
They’re both much less effective without their swords, that’s all that matters.
