The zorot4rds forgot that the story is about Luffy, and just because they have a sword fetish this will not change the manga. Zoro is famous in the west because after Naruto ended the Naruto fans start to crush Zoro, as he is the closest one OP character get to the characters of Kishimoto manga, no development, just look cool and act tough. It's starting become cringe the topics the fanboys create.

But that still doesn't justify Luffy's panel time. He is not as liked as he should be given how much attention Oda gives him and at this point in time he isn't bringing anything new to Shonen manga. And a lot of people agree that quality of story telling has decreased because of one of the reason is sole focus on Luffy after time skip.

You could say that its Oda's story and he wants Luffy to have that much panel. Well sure but people can critcise it and that what I'm doing here. And they can also stop reading One Piece as well. Which you might not care but surely Oda does care about.

That too, while i dont like the direction naruto took when it became "shippuden", the start if the series is pretty good, and the characters get a lot of development from the get go.

Yes but there is a difference in story telling here. Oda singling out Luffy rather than Yonko's singling out Luffy means Yonko's have no preference towards Luffy. All of the Worstgen are same to them, puny. Now I think its their arrogance but that's another topic.

They've had preference for him the start, even if he wasnt alone during those events. He's the one who's directly challenged them both for the PK title to their faces

Sure But it wasn't shown directly in that encounter. Its subtle but that what Oda choose to show. they only addressed him specifically because he was last to enter and than went on to walk towards them.

His popularity won't change irrespective of his panel time. Increasing panel time will decrease popularity for such boring and stoic character. The less panel time the better limelight he will have. And he never moves the story anyways. His role is to utter some badass lines with badass poses.

I think after Oda saw Amazon arc, Impel Down and especially MF succeed without the SHs, he felt that he can write the manga without SH anymore as much as he wanted.

So he brought that mentality post skip and never looked back.

I can't say how much I detest these random SHs separations. Imagine after waiting years for the SHs to return (Amazon, ID, MF plus flashback arc of Luffy and Ace. All of them w/o SHs), you get into the TS, all SHs finally back together again then after 2 arcs Oda separate them for the next 2 big arc of post skip before Wano(Dressrossa and WCI).

And I'm sure he'll split them again post Wano somehow. As long as he has his darling Luffy nothing matters as much to Oda.

Yes, that is the problem...Oda neglected other SH, he didn't "increase" Luffy panel time rather he "neglected" other SH which was his mistake and I agree on that....side characters eating more panel time....
