The Pervert Characters : what do you think about them ? Funny or Creepy ?

Only for that reason ? Seeing Sanji not wanting to hurt Khalifa was nice, but yeah current situation with Black Maria is ridiculous.
I am bored with Sanji nosebleed even without any danger around like when he was in Fishmen island with the mermaid. And Jiraya gags with Sexy Jutsu Naruto aren't that funny either.
Maybe I am too old now and too bored with those type of things.....
But about the fact they kept making perverted characters, we mostly find that in classic shonen I guess, I don't remember seeing this type of character in other more serious shows : in Death Note/Code geass/Berserk/Kingdom/FMA/AOT/HxH etc I don't remember perverted characters.

Not that someone think this is a comedy series, since it is more the Dark Fantasy with a lot heavy metal shit. Anyway, that guy didn´t only troll his enemies, no he also take what he wants. A battle against female enemies, ends often that they are getting sexual harassed, or directly rap** by Dark Schneider. The series isn´t a hentai, but it has a lot of content in that verse. Either Darsh having sex with the Seraph Michael, within a battle against Konron, or against Porno Diane. He is a highlevel pervert:

Of course there is also Roshi from Dragonball, probably the grand-grandfather of perverts in shounen genre. Also Issei from DxD, Happosai from Ranma 1/2, Aladdin from Magi, etc.
Are those perverts in manga/anime necessary? I think, that mostly depends on the genre or concept. I don´t see a problem with those guys, i mean for me it is stupid, but also funny. I can laugh about it. Of course, if there is a really serious verse, then i don´t think such people will fit in the plot, but on the other hand....

Roshi, Sanji and Mineta are 10000% sexual predators. Mineta is ARGUABLY tha only one you can sort of excuse. He’s a teenage boy(ain’t he like 14-16?) like he’s in tha middle of puberty, he’s still a fucking creepy mfer. But atleast he’s a teenager dealing with raging hormones. Roshi an old man, he know better and can’t help himself he gone simp for booty no matter what, fate of tha universe be damned. Sanji is right there next to em lol, FI made this man into a predator and let’s not forget when he put that suit on in Wano....one of if not tha first thing he did was go invisible and crouch in tha corner of a female bath house and jus stare and drool on himself until he was forced to move and turn tha invisibility off. Mans used his family technology that he hates so much, jus to look at some titties he sees every single day on tha ship. He can’t help himself

I think this is a pretty interesting topic. I think I'm really tolerant to the characters being pervert gags since it's a really common trope in anime and manga even for kids so I don't really take it seriously.
Of course there is a limit, but I can't think of a character at the moment that has really crossed over the limit yet. For me, I think a perverted character is fine as long as it's one of these situations:
> the character is unimportant and only shows up for the perverted gags once in a while (ie. Mineta, Momo)
> character is generally serious when needed to be but occasionally gets distracted by women (ie. Sanji)
> If it's funny (ie. Furuichi from Beelzebub)
Also disclaimer: I'm not saying that these characters or gags are funny, but I'm saying they're tolerable in these situations.
At the end of the day it really depends on the execution. Most of the time if the execution is bad, it comes off more as cringy to me than creepy. Especially since I don't really hold real life standards to japanese cartoon
. It's the same with tropes like Nami beating Luffy, Garp hitting Ace and Luffy, Zoro and Sanji fighting etc, yeah like technically this is all "abusive relationship" but we know that it's a gag so there's no point to take it to heart.
As for me, my fav "perverted character" is by far Furuichi from Beelzebub. Like dude got his head stuck in a window while trying to play hero for a girl lmao.

It really depends how an author makes the perverts funny.
For example, there are perverts like Kondo and Sarutobi in Gintama who are huge stalkers and perverts and thus perform gags in which I mostly roflmao'ed. Look at this scene:
This gag itself has so much context how the pervert behaves, it's also amazing how Sorachi comes up with these funny gags lmao.

In conclusion, as long as their perversion is not utterly cringe or very annoying, perverted characters can be quite funny. It is a matter of successful gags. I do think Sanji's simping would be much more bearable if Oda wouldn't use the same lame ass gags over and over and over and over again.

Oda's problem is he stick to the one shtick and makes it like their whole character, It stops being funny when it's all the character does, there's no other depth to the character, or if there is it's not shown or highlighted enough...
Basically Oda's characters are more often than not just a one character trait shit fest.
