Oda focuses on his skin not getting cut, and follows with Kaido saying that it's as expected.

It contrasts with how the chapter began with Luffy actually hurting him, which was beyond expectations

Nah, "little monsters" isn't high praise. In general, this thread is premature and based on a motivated reading of Kaido's statement. This will age terribly, except that the reckoning come in a couple of days when the Viz is out. That's going to be egg on your face.

There's a double spread showing the three of them and Kaido embracing the challenge and calling them Little Monsters.

Unless Viz changes the image, there's nothing that can be changed for the intention behind this thread.

The part of Zoro fanbase that would have 100% had the reaction i described in the post you quoted had the roles been reversed ( and it's not arguable, i see such examples here on a daily basis ), only a couple of weeks ago said that Oda would never go ahead an play on this dynamic of grouping up the three captains and the two first mates.

I was called a hater and spammed shitty memes for stating that's going to happen, which is why now i'm blunt with this thread.

It already happened, it can't "not age well". This is not about shitting on Zoro and saying that he did nothing or will do nothing of worth in the future. It's about Oda making a separation right now and playing on those dynamics as i expected.
