For you what was Mihawk reaction when Shanks lost his arm.

We know that they used to spar and had duels, they had mutiple duels, Mihawk respects Shanks and considered him a worthy rival. So what was Mihawk reaction knowing that his strongest sword rival lost an arm ? and he didn't even lost it against a powerful opponent that Mihaw can fight.

And we know that Mihawk takes those things seriously, duels, looking for the worthy opponents etc.

Was he mad for some time ? Do you think he was mad to lose his rival ? especially for a "foolish" reason.

Was he calm ? thinking that Shanks could do whatever he wanted and that didn't concern him.

What is your opinion ?

Mad for sure. His rival didnt lose his arm he gave it up. I dont think he gets over that hang up until he meets and interacts with luffy and zoro.

I think he would be confused of how the fuck that happened knowing Shank's capabilities.

He was shocked at first just like WB and everyone who knew how strong Shanks was.

But after Shanks revealed to Mihawk the real reason, he would be angry at first and look down on Shanks for some time.

Then after Mihawk meets Luffy , he realizes why and starts taken notice (why he joined the warlords meeting and took the bounty to Shanks).

At MF he then decided to affirm / test Luffy's fate whether he actually deserved the sacrifice and that is where he notices Luffy's ultimate power

The man is grooming another rival by himself. That's how bored he is now thanks to Shanks' sacrifice.
Mad, disappointed, displeased, etc, for sure. Most likely shocked as well, at least at the beginning.

My opinion is this.
Shanks is, by all means, a swordsman. A very skilled one. And, as a swordsman, inferior to Mihawk.
Having said that, being a swordsman is NOT the ONLY way shanks knows how to fight. Hence why said losing an arm might not have nerfed him at all.
What Mihawk is sorry for, is the fact that Shanks cannot use his swordsmanship at its full capacity anymore, so dueling him, AS A SWORDSMAN, would be pointless.
When Shanks used CoC whe boarding WB's ship, he didnt simply make people faint, he caused physical damage on the ship. Which seens to indicate a level of CoC that can indeed cause physical damage if he so desires, in a not counterable way, like an aura aroud him. This has nothing to do with swordsmanship and might be something he would not use on his duels with Mihawk, so that's my reason to believe Shanks is above Mihawk, despite Mihawk being the better swordsman.
Having said all that, I think Mihawk was actually disappointed for Shanks to lose his arm. He seems to be bored all the time, probably because, by being at the top alone, he lacks something. Maybe Shanks was the kind of challenge that kept him feeling fulfilled as the top swordsman. Smashing people who you think are smallfries is simply boring for him. That's why he liked Zoro, a man who claimed would be coming to his head one day, and spared him, while giving a little pep talk later. (surpass me, roronoa zoro!) that kind of stuff.

Hajime no Ippo have a similar case with the Champion Ricardo Martinez, a man so far ahead of everyone else, that he feels empty because he lacks a challenge that can light a spark inside him.
This is my take on Mihawk's reaction to Shanks' losing his arm and the context for it. :)

Mihawk should have a personal code about his duels

he is willing to fight Vista but not Shanks?

this is not about power level ... but his morals

Shanks is willing to fight him tho ... he don't care

Mihawk seems to have quite a bit of respect for Shanks and vice versa. I'm sure his reaction was probably similar to Whitebeards with his "As long as you have no regrets", but was probably disappointed at the same time. I think after he had actually met Luffy though, he seemed to be more understanding as to why Shanks did it, which is why he went to Shanks to tell him that they met.

Disappointment, and they stopped meeting for duels after it. Shanks was surprised to meet Mihawk when he came to deliver Luffy's bounty. They may not have met since Shanks explained how he lost his arm.

For me he must havve been mad at least a little.

And even if he managed to accept that I think some nights he might be a bit bitter about it.

Each time he stomps a scrub he must feel a bit empty and this about having real and challenging sword duels.

For 13 years Mihawk had been Saitama'ed and his fights had bored him to death.
For someone likeMihawk who live and breath for his art and fighting swords men this must be exhausting.

Maybe, but I'm not 100% sure, their first encounter after Shanks lost his arm was actually the one we saw on panel when Mihawk brought him the 30M bounty Luffy poster. At first Shanks even aaked him if he had come to challenge him (he was also in a bad mood for reasons unknown) yet Mihawk just underlined he had no interest in 1 armed swordsman. About his 1st reaction after hearing the news imo it depends if Mihawk had already won the WSS title by beating Shanks or if he won it by default when Shanks lose some of his sword skills. If he had already won it then some regret since he had just lost hia only worthy rival even if he had already beaten him. But if won the title this way then he would be most likely furious, with Shanks mainly, probably even try to somewhat refuse the title.

After Shanks loss one of his arm in East Blue (the weakest sea), Mihawk finally realize that Shanks has another dream that he want to fulfill, thus dueling with Shanks to prove who is the strongest swordsman would be pointless since Shanks didn't necessarily want to become WSS.

What is the purpose for dueling someone who didn't necessarily want your title?

That's why he lost his interest and chose to wait untill a new swordsman emerge and could challenge him, swordsman that at least as good as his old rival in swordsmanship and want to become WSS.
