Why should it be Lodestar?
"The island that only the pirate king ever reached" is certainly not Lodestar.
Lodestar is only the last island in the New World, if you follow the Log Pose. There you are supposed to learn aout Ponegliffs for the first time according to Inu/Neko (they explained it...
Oda has actually done this very nicely with Rocks and Harald (and I've criticized his writing often lately).
Oda shows that (political) extremes only lead to a quick and ugly downfall.
Rocks is the aggressive conqueror type, who wants to become king of the world by taking over with force - he...
Oda' message here is very simple, but powerful:
A little idealism is never wrong, but don't be naive and overdo it. Don't sell out your national identity.
Not trying to shit on the parade, but PIS has been omnipresent in OP from the very start of the series.
If somebody wants to read a manga with smart characters that act realistically, OP was never the manga for them.
It just somehow started to annoy people when a large audience of basic manga...
It's a fun read, but if we really want to judge storywriting - my God it is so flawed in so many areas (pacing, inner-manga logic, character usage etc.).
But again - I recently reread it and if you just want some entertainment without thinking too much, it's actually quite nice.
He made a mistake so many otherwise intelligent and empathic people make these days - trying to get on good terms with the bully by succumbing to them and playing by their rules.
Only problem - the bully gives a flying fuck about that. If you give them the little finger, they will take the...
Garling - the man, the myth, the legend.
Coming in "clutch" against already defeated opponents like he was prime Ronaldo.
All jokes aside - Rocks really wasn't a bad guy and even in this chapter he showed it again ("Roger ... Garp ... run! You can't die here!").
The whole current spoiler culture is a freaking mess.
Getting "hints" as early as Sunday and Monday, then a chapter summary Tuesday, a detailed summary Wednesday and then raws on Thursday really takes away any joy for the actual chapter on Fridays.
It's ridiculous.
I miss the old times where...
Imho the two main problems with Wano were
1) Oda once again wanted too much and gave a ton of exposure to side characters that didn't even really matter much in the end.
2) He didn't really plan out the Raid on Onigashima beforehand. It felt like once we were there he improvised week to week...
Imu essentially no-diffed him without suffering any injuries whatsoever.
People need to stop with the "hax" allegations, when it's just Imu's signature ability befitting of the king of the world.
Rocks is a monster in his own right and his final act will be epic, but as of right now nobody can...
