On another note: What's up with this super boring cover story? 42 chapters in and really nothing noteworthy happened at all.

The problem isn't that Kaido doesn't have any depth. Not every villain needs a grand backstory. The problem is that Oda teased the readers about some deep backstory multiple (!) times (suicide motives, Oni background, Joyboy connection etc.) and didn't deliver on single one of those points...

Basically a complete recap (1096) and filler chapter. Massive disappointment after the hype from last chapter, especially considering the fact that we are in a break week again.
