Why would he go seaching for Ivankov. Ivankov was recruiting people in prison and was waiting for the right time to escape. Ivanov literally had a drn drn mushi and was in contact.

Another one is Garp who had several deadly battles with Roger and even in his rusty old age fought Kuzan and the entire Beast Pirates all on his own.
Now Dragon needs to step up to his game. Ngl, I know he's one of the strongest top tiers but he's just so useless rn...

MC and yet so weak that he needs tons of plot armor is exactly what is ruining this whole show.
The mighty Garp with "several deadly battles with Roger in offpanel" ended up merely a hype tool for Zoro's janitor...
Dragon literally setup to fail so his son can succeed... Whoever has high expectations from Monkey D family, good luck to him.

Garp fans should be able to tell you this considering how lame he ended up comparing to any figure he shared an era with in his prime.
Look at the treatment of Roger, Whitebeard and Kaido. Then look at Garp.

I think Dragon will only be Imu's hypetool. He'll have some clashes against other top tiers to show he's not just dangerous in name only.

I'm expecting him to be stronger so he doesnt need plot armor that much but this is wishful thinking from my side.
You forget that BBPs never ganged up on him, he always encountered them 1 by 1. You think WB/Kaido would end up like Garp did? lol
If Dragon's fighting capability is anything like his father's or his son's, good luck to his fans. I am not placing any bets on Monkey Ds...

Luffy will always struggle against enemies in arc. There's no point if he's just another Saitama or Escanor lol.
We've seen Garp engaging with several of them in battle; he even tossed one outside of the sea and yes, later on they all ganged on him and Garp lost. WB was a freak of nature but skill wise, Garp performed better. WB had short battles against top tiers and immediately got a heart attack. His endurance carried him throughout the war. Kaido is in his prime so he'd fare better than Garp.
I'm simply giving Dragon the benefit of the doubt. I highly doubt he has nothing to offer.

He doesnt need to be Saitama or Escanor. If he was half of Zoro, the amount of plot armor would be reduced to nearly zero...
Where is the ganging up part against Garp? Kuzan? All of his panels are 1vs1. Shiryu? One encounter in 1vs1. Where is this you speak of?

Look what it took to take down Kaido and WB and then look what it takes to take Garp out. Both Kaido and WB got major spotlight against several strong people while Garp was a background side story or a mini arc, taken out by one Shiryu's stab, one punch from Kuzan and got frozen by Kuzan's 2nd attack...

I am not saying Dragon aint strong. Luffy and Garp are strong too but compared to the peak of the world like those who wield World's Strongest titles... That family aint built for this... Luckily they got their own thing as liberators of the world, at least Luffy and Dragon do while Garp is simply disappointing on every front.
