General & Others Semi famous actor wants to be One Piece live action

#22
Would you use a white actor to play a famous black historical or fictionnal figure ?
That's not exactly the same

An straight actor playing a character that happens to be gay isn't the same has race swapping an already established historical figure or character

That's exactly the same.

The reason why we do not race swap black actors is because :
- We don't want to strip them from an identity that has an importance in the story
- Black people are still underepresented in medias and there are no reason to put less of them

Its the same for straight/Bi/homosexual AND Non binary people (also, "non binary" is not a sexual preference)

In One Piece, the non binarity of Bon Clay is FOUNDAMENTAL to the character's story. So if you make a Cis actor play a non binary character you create the same offense to non binary people that you would create to black people if you were giving the role of a black man to a white man. It would be literally a spit in the face to those people AND the story itself.

Would you say a gay man shouldn't be permitted to act in a movie as a straight man?
Straight men don't need more representation, Gay men do. Bi people do. Black people do. Asian people do. Native people do. Trans do and non binary people in general DO.

So let them have the floor when the story literally shows that its THEIR place to play the role.

I have no issues with lgbqt playing thier respective roles in filim, but it's flat out wrong to say they HAVE to.

Nick and Murray did an amazing job portaying a gay couple in the Last of Us, and only one of them is actually gay. Are you saying that wasn't a great representation because one was straight?

its not them who have to do it, its producers who needs to make everything possible for them to have those roles. There are a lot of talented Queer actor and actresses so there is absolutely no need to search for straight or cis people.

It was, because they actually cared to include a gay character in it. Also, there is this :

Actor should be able to play anything. But we MUST redistribute the inequality of treatment against minorities in medias by representing them correctly. And in the case where the non binary identity is invisibilized (even more so than homosexuality) we must be careful in double and give the role to actors of the queer community. I've talked about good choices if you want in the Live action thread:

Bon Chan needs to be played by a non binary actor, that would be more respectful of the character and non binary people in general. I'm not a specialist of Non Binary actor but I've made a bit of research and a few names seems interesting:

J. Harrison Ghee

Perfect in term of charisma, range of emotion and stature, but I need to see them in a live action role to be sure of their real acting skills.

Vico Ortiz

Definitly has the range for Bonchan and the friendly aspect too... maybe too friendly. We would need to see how they do in bad mode.

Terry hu

They seems to have the range of emotion but look a tiny bit young and seems too friendly (although this might play in favor of Bon Chan). With a good training, they could do very well (Imagine Sanji is complete distress in front of this beautiful actor... and who wouldn't know what to think, I think that it could be hilarious)

It would be a bold choice as Bon Chan looks more masculine that they looks feminine but I'm not against that type of change

Mason Alexander Park

My current crush for the role of Bon Chan. They would be absolutely perfect. We would need to check if their comedic range is there but they are on point in all other aspects.

My finger is currently pointed at Mason Alexander Park for Bon Chan with a hearth on J. Harrison Ghee.

Because logiko is a furry sex addict, as 90% of what she talks about is either sex, gay stuff or furry. The other day she even did a grooming thred aimed at "women" that only them could reply trying to single them out.
Scary and creepy.
Fun fact: I never talk about Furries, I'm not one and I don't like that (not even Carrot). I usually never talk about homosexuals but rather trans people and I almost never talk about sex. You got all three wrong lol

Its not the first time that you are making weird fantasy about me which seems to be an obsession you have for either me, carrot or sexual stuff. That is really creepy, please stop. I won't ask it anymore. Next time its a report.

I did a thread asking 3 questions about One Piece ONLY for WOMEN. And the result is that the majority of Women can't speak because of guys like you who rot and spam toxicity in threads. You are being a creep, stop being a creep. The thread is still active for those who want to answer the questions.

Yessir, not a debate.

Its not a question of capacity, its a question of representation. In a world where non binary people are oppressed and invisibilized, we need to not invisibilize them more and create good representation. Especially when the character is non binary.
Bon-chan is an okama, so technically according to you a drag queen should be getting the role

(I will reply about this in the live action thread)
Fine, if they can find one that can actually do the role well. I just want a good performance.

There are a lot of great actors, that should be possible.

Bon chan is not only a Drag, they are also non binary. So, yes it would be best to have both, but the most important is the non binary part. Drag is an art, not an identity. (at least not in my knowledge, i'm not versed in the art of Drags)

1. Question, do you know what doxxing mean ? (Check anyway)

2. I asked WOMEN questions. If you are confusing girls or little girls with WOMEN, I think I might have to ask you a few more questions...

Again, stop being a creep, last warning.

So he needs to be acted by an okama
Which is a pejorative term that was reappropriated by non binary people and Queers overall. And since Bon Chan is neither a man or a woman, they are non binary (meaning not 2, meaning not one of the gender, meaning not woman and not man, meaning non static on the gender scale, meaning NON Binary - got it ?)

Black people in their ghetto playing only blacks
You want black people to be played by white people ?

Okama are usually men who cross dress. Bon-chans deal is that he is both, not neither, thats why he didnt have a female partner
