Because people are stupid. They either come from other fandoms and use the op fandom as a platform, or they are sociopaths or otherwisely sick.

Doubt it, just two dudes that came up through the ranks together and bonded through that experience. And iirc Kizaru is a bit older than him so it's in part a respect thing by Akainu as well (considering he can respect Kizaru because he's still a Marine and does his job without question)

Yeah you might actually be right. Though they're conveniently both from the north blue and also joined the Marines at the exact same time.
Could be a coincidence, though, plus I'm not sure if Oda would actually make them brothers. Just doesn't seem like something he'd do.
