I dont like Drake, never did.

But I have to admit, the whole industry is trying to take him down (he did not help his case either, he deserved it). But black people accuse others of racism, but it is funny how it will take whole black community to take down one artist. And Drake is half black. Just like Kendrick's wife.

I dont know what Drake did that made Kendrick revoke his N word pass.

I prefer Kendrick over Drake, but this whole narrative of "Not like us" is just corny. Why? Using the race card when it is just business and both of the artists are just concerned about their commercial success.

Because Drake is a culture vulture.

^This is who Drake is at his core. He would be doing country music if it would make him the most profit.

I understand what it means, but it is entertainment industry. If he was a culture vulture from the beginning then why Kendrick collabed with him, same for J Cole, Jay Z, Future, Kanye, and others?

Surely, they benefitted from his prime, did not they?
I mean in pure business sense, it was a collaboration.

I dont understand this problem with black community. They were trying to do the same to Eminem not long ago. Melle Mel, Snoop Dogg, and others said things about Eminem. Eminem has been respectful of black artists and even say they inspired him.

They tried to push Eminem out, discredit his legacy and what not.

So, my question is, if music is entertainment, then why black community want to keep it exclusively to blacks only?

As an outsider, the impression I get is whenever a non-black artists shines and do better than other black artists, they will just label him as "he is not like us". Does it have its roots in racism?

Well for Eminem it was largely a "this is a black man's industry, he's just pretending to be black and got no place in it" but he won his doubters over with quality lyrics and being unfuckwithable

With Drake it's a case of mistaken identity. He jumps from culture to culture while every now and then trying to maintain a hood persona (even though he grew up well off). In his early days his tunes were mostly emotional stuff, nothing hard, which seemed genuine and something he would make his own. But then he started associating with street names to get up his cred while stil flip floping on his identity, which made actual street cred rappers flinch away from him

At least that's what I got from it, I'm not black

Probably the whitest thing Drake did so far lmao
its watch the party die and anti industry till its drake lol hypocritical ass mfs

No one with any credibility was doing that to Em. Eminem has the respect of all of the greats. Kendrick, Cole, Tyler all the major artists of today have said Em inspired them.

What you're saying isn't exclusive to Eminem, everyone has haters when you get to a certain lvl of stardom. Jealousy kicks in.

Drake has been wearing a costume and exploiting the culture for profit. That's why no one is coming to Drake's defense, his shelf life and gimmick has run its course.

"There's no accent you can sell me" there is literally nothing authentic or genuine about Drake, his whole persona, his accents, his demeanour is all a play for him. Hip hop doesn't operate like traditional pop, ghostwriting is taken seriously for example, yet Drake and his OvO machine managed to survive that as well. Only reason this charade has went on for so long is because Hip Hop became the new pop, and the labels had Drake's back.

We're finally witnessing a reset, took long enough to get here. Heck the very fact that Drake is filing for a lawsuit over a rap beef tells you he doesn't respect hip hop.

So Kendrick gained 20 million monthly listeners after dropping 1 SONG, Lost 17 million of them, drops a whole ALBUM. And only gains 1.1 million listeners? Yeah NLU was definitely botted as fuck.

The drastic change of YouTube views are nuts. MTG had a million within an hour. But his latest have 5 in 5 days

Imagine a Drake stan talking about botting. Drake was literally fed into everyone's algorithms, mfer was showing up in country music playlists back when Scorpion dropped.

Go look at Drake's disparity between pure album sales and stream sales. Drake is as manufactured as they come.

What happened when the label didn't have his back? KSI outcharted him 🤣 100 gigs had no motion.

Drake can't even survive independent, there's a reason he was complicit with their tactics and signing these lifelong deals with Lucien Grainge. Kendrick went independent a couple years ago, while Drake still relies on his masters. He bit off more than he could chew though, they realized his asking price was too high and backed the winning horse in Kendrick.
