Superman (11 July, 2025)

I never heard of Mr Terrific tbh
One of the smartest men alive (third according to the N52).

Regarding the lanterns... come on, Hal Jordan "again" one we only had one live action adaptation with him and it bombed? Guy is fine, but he's the lamest of the major lanterns, so Gunn better includes a proper Hal in a later movie.

There doesn't need to be one who is "Gunn's" lantern, though, Green Lanterns all wear the mantle simultaneously, so we might get John, Kyle and the rest in later Lantern-focused movies.

Honestly despite what people say I feel sorrier for Thor than Hulk. He was created by Lee to go even beyond the Hulk and his powers have incredible potential.

He could and should easily be Marvel's Superman+Wonder Woman in terms of role and powerset but they keep turning him into a jobber. 2018 and 2019 were horrible years for him.

Hulk's treatment has been bad too but atleast he has a decent number of portrayals from older media and some recent comics where he's the top dog, even if the MCU screwed him over.

Yes, I really like that they're focusing on the mythos! I hope we'll see the Fortress fully.

Have you ever read Superman: Unchained? It's one of the better New-52 storylines and in it he has a bunch of alien weapons in his Fortress that he makes a whole power suit out of. It was honestly pretty dope.

I hope we'll get to see some similar cool stuff in the movies, like alien tech and memorabilia, as well as Clark interacting more with Lois, Jimmy and the DP gang.

I wonder what Krypto's gonna do. I was a bit surprised by his look, I thought he'd be a labrador.
Krypto's race is a "self-insert" of Gunn's dog.

He said in an interview he took inspiration from his own experiences to write Krypto's scenes.

Considering Krypto has changed races a few times already I'm fine with it, he looks adorable, so it will probably help sell more tickets.

My favorite is the N52 husky-like version, though.

What's your expectations for this movie? will this movie take DC movies out of the mud? Will this new Superman surpass Henry Cavil's Superman?

Tagging some folks that may like superheros........i guess lol

@Buusatan94 @Yoho @TheAncientCenturion @Zoroe @Kizaruber Eats
"Will this movie take DC movies out of the mud" the future of DC literally depends on this movie lmao. Will it do good? I think so, Superman is super popular worldwide. Also we didn't even get a official trailer lmao, the marketing starts April 1st(WB panel at Cinemacon). My most anticipated movie ever, the world needs more hope and kindness.

Nathan Fillion is a fantastic actor so I'm definitely excited to see him and I'm glad they didn't do Hal Jordan again there's a plethora of Laterns to choose from seeing that James Gunn decided to take a more unique approach and chose Guy Gardner as his latern is brilliant

Hawk girl is always hit or miss hopefully she's a hit here and I never heard of Mr Terrific tbh

My most anticipated movie too...:BigW:
DC and movies in the same sentence....

I knew the movies are fated to be doomed Lmao.

DC's last good superhero movie was The Dark Knight (which was back in 2008 LMAO).
Nah, Man Of Steel was good and The Batman (2022) was great, but yeah, BvS, WW, Aquaman, The Flash and Shazam were trash lol

To be fair, Marvel ain't that good too. It's been 5 years since MCU became garbage...:willight:

Nah, Deadpool and Wolverine last year was great. But yeah, Marvel is no better than DC when it comes to making garbage movies lol.

Nah, Deadpool and Wolverine last year was great.
I respect your opinion but for me, this movie was pretty mid. Only a bunch of fanservice and nostalgia for 2000s superhero movies lol.
But yeah, Marvel is no better than DC when it comes to making garbage movies lol.
The difference between Marvel and DC is that Marvel found a formula to make superhero movies, so most of MCU weren't "good", they were average to good. DC didn't have an formula, after Nolan's Batman, Warner bet on Snyder's vision but it didn't work out because they rushed things too much.

Now, James Gunn is in charge, and he has already shown himself to be a competent director/writer when it comes to making superhero movies.

Reason why DC never took of like Marvel is due to plot only lol.

The casting was insanely good
"The casting was insanely good", this is not accurate at all.

- Jason Momoa was a clown as Aquaman
- Ezra Miller was a terrible Flash
- Zachery Levi was a clown as Shazam
- Jesse Eisenberg was a terrible Lex Luthor
- Jared Leto was the worst Joker

And i even being generous for not including Gal Gadot despite i consider her mid as Wonder Woman.

The only good ones were Ben Affleck, Henry Cavil, Margot Robbie and Ray Fisher and, expect Margot, all were misused in the movies.

The casting was insanely good , VFX was decent.
But the plot is shit.
Batman and superman stop fighting cuz their mother. I still can't believe that.

Like holy shit , you both were fighting for entirely different reasons 🥹😭
I think "VFX" you mean Batman v Superman right?

Yeah, BvS was really bad, the Martha scene is one of the dumbest scene in a superhero movie, but this movie has a lot of other problems overrall.

Well, about the plot, Kevin Feige wanted to adapt the Infinite Saga, but of course with some changes since they didn't have the rights of X-Men/FF in that time.

On the other side, Snyder wanted to built a Saga which was a mix of Infinite Crises and Injustice in a post apocalyptic future where Superman is evil and is manipulated by Darkside.

The biggest problem is that Snyder ain't a good writer and doesn't know how to write a history, let alone a Saga.

I liked him as aquaman though :josad:
I too liked aquaman, Despite the shitty plot.

Again liking the characters is related more to plot.
Erma miller , He had shitty origin , shitty power display , Shit costume.
Lex luthor , was decent only to me.
- Jarod Leto was good though.

As for Henry cavil and Benn Affleck, They had their character pretty fleshed out in their own movies.

Jason Momoa was a clown as Aquaman
Zachery Levi was a clown as Shazam
Wrong on both
The entire JL was casted really well except the Flash
Gadot isn't a good actress but she pulled it off in the first WW movie and i liked her in the role.
The first Shazam and Aquaman worked in large parts thanks to the lead actors performance imo
Death stroke was perfect casting shame we won't get him in a movie against Sniders Batman.

Disagree.

The JL cast has always lacked chemistry. It's okay that you thought Momoa was funny and entertaining, but he is NOT Aquaman. There's a reason that why people always prefer him as Lobo over Aquaman.

It's okay that you thought Zachery Levi's Shazam was funny and entertaining, but he is NOT Shazam. Shazam 2 is probably one of the worst superhero movies of the last 15 years, by the way.

And the same goes for Miller's Flash, Leto's Joker, Eisenberg's Luthor.

Death stroke was perfect casting shame we won't get him in a movie against Sniders Batman.
According to the leaks

In this movie....

- Both Slade and Bruce Wayne would be disciples of Ra's Al Guhl.
- Slade would seek revenge on Bruce for betraying the League of Assassins.
- Deathstroke's plan would be inspired by Bane's in "Batman Knightfall".
- The final fight between Batman and Deathstroke would be inspired by the trailer for Batman Arkham Origins.

Ben Affleck would be the Director/Producer/Screenwriter and would act as Batman, however at the time, Affleck was going through problems with alcoholism and decided to step away from the project.

The Snyderverse was at best an offbeat ElseWorld's interpretation. It was never going to work as the mainstream movie versions of the characters.

So far, Gunn's new universe feels more in line with classic interpretations, but we're still missing a lot of the big players like what this universe's Batman, Wonder Woman, or Flash will be like. Until then, I reserve most of my judgement. However, nothing beyond Superman has me all that excited atm.
