Obviously as a fan you hope it’s a satisfying ending but what do you think is more realistic?

Yeah and imo it's more of a people problem than the major series' problem.
It's the same as the "the sequel is always worse" people. It's just a common human trait, and it will never change.

Oda will have to try something fans are not expecting, probably even put in an absurd fight between Luffy and an uber super final villain that Luffy will win thanks to plot armor that will make Kaido vs Luffy look like a very good fight. Also, considering fandoms, Oda probably will keep his focus all on Luffy and so every fandom, bar Luffy hardcore fans, will come out unsatisfied.
