Whatever fruit Blackbeard gets will not be one that has shown off too much of its own abilities.
That's how re-using of DFs works on important characters with lots of combat exposure.
Oda simply doesn't want to show off the same thing twice. For example, WB has never used a single named attack with Gura so he can show off its named abilities on Blackbeard as well as Awakening of it.
Blackbeard may not be after Imu's DF specifically but he will get one from a participant of the WG war, maybe Loki's DF.

Don't forget that Loki is an important character at the final war, it can't be possible that BB is going to steal Loki's DF.
Also Imu is fighting in a vessel, maybe he won't be able to showcase all his abilities.

He is an important character, yes but he can die at the end of that war and that is when BB takes his fruit, the same happening in MF.

We are in the era of DF merchants... Of course the only guy in the world capable of eating multiple ones will be above all other DF merchants. It is common sense. We already saw the blueprint of the big war in Marineford, Blackbeard caused it and reaped the rewards.
Big wars are just a ladder for Blackbeard to climb higher...

Imu has already oppressed the world for 900 years, nothing BB can do will surpass that narrative sin. Unless he is secretly the reincarnation of the earth god or something and Imu was just a pawn for its plans…. then I can see him being FV. But even that scenario sounds like an asspull.

Do you really think Oda is going to kill Loki at the final war, just look at him having a party down there at the underground with Luffy. I think he is part of the final party that Luffy will throw.

Yeah we don’t know who Imu really is or if he’s even separate from the other entities. I’m just assuming he’s the forest god in the second world based on the demon description. The earth god and serpent are the ones described in the first world.
